You know how you never actually appreciate something quite enough until it's gone? When I broke my foot doing an off-ice axel, I was depressed. I cried the whole night, the pain was unbearable. I could never re-live that day. I had been working out 5-7 hours A DAY prior to this accident, and im pretty sure that is what caused the sudden break. My foot had had enough. Over the past two months ive realized that skating was my outlet, and I got unhappy FAST because I couldnt do what I love... I still have 4 months to go before I can even think about stepping on ice. This is hard. Remember fellow figure skaters, sports enthusiasts, gym buffs; injury HAPPENS. Dont overuse yourself. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself rest days, and plenty of protein. Trust me.
