Whatever

This was one of the few non-fiction books I read this past year, after lockdown hit I decided to focus on fiction mostly because of the escapism it allowed me. 

This book is a 5/5 through and through! There is not much to tell about the plot as I feel that the title is perfectly succinct. The book talks about women throughout history both famous and not. You get background and context and why these women were significant and even why sometimes they were not written about or are lesser known. 

It a great piece of feminist literature and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! It is so important to learn about history in a way that is not mainstream to learn about marginalised people and how layered history truly is. That there was so much more to everything we are taught. I honestly loved it! Jewell is also a fantastic writer, it is written very conversationally so it almost feels like a podcast rather than a book. And she even has a small glossary for words she uses (in case you weren’t sure about the definition). This book just reinforced how much I love women and how amazing and varied they are!
