So many people reach out to us in Gaza and tell us, "Stay patient."
We have tried. We truly have. But the truth is that we have almost no strength or patience left.
The unbearable heat, the insects, the lack of money, and the soaring cost of living have exhausted us both physically and emotionally.
That is why so many families in Gaza have turned to fundraising. It is not a choice or a luxury—it has become the only way for us to keep going, survive, and hold on through these impossible circumstances.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing a fundraiser. A single share can reach someone who is able to help and make a real difference in a family's life.
Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us, support us, and help keep hope alive. 🤍

What are the Utena casts fave movies of all time?
Utena- The NeverEnding Story (1984)
Anthy- Fire Walk With Me (1992)
Akio- Phantom of the Paradise (1974) (with some self awareness)
Nanami- Angel's Egg (1985) (she doesn't like it really, but she wore out the vision tape watching it and has dreams about it sometimes)
Saionji- The Hidden Fortress (1958)
Touga-Belives that the written word is the more mature mode of artistic expression and movies are for babies, you didn't here it from me but his fav is: Anne of Green Gables (1985)
Juri- Wings of Desire (1987) (the yearner)
Shiori- The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
Kozue- Ginger snaps (2000) (watching the murder photography montage wishing Miki was chill like that)
Miki- Xanadu (1980) (derogatory, but not wholy, embodies the best and worst of Miki)
Wakaba- the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy, which she reguards as one movie, and she had Saionji watch it while he was locked in her room even tho it wouldn't come out for another 5 years
Anybody else feel free to add thoughts im curious
ah yes my circumstantial reference to race and its relevence in both the structures of power asserted by the narrative and art history itself. which was inserted by chance and for no analytical purpose.
i do think theres something sad about how largely only the literature that's considered especially good or important is intentionally preserved. i want to read stuff that ancient people thought sucked enormous balls
Time to take this post entirely too seriously:
I often wonder if this is why you so commonly see the sentiment that we are in an era of uniquely bad literature, or at least that the fact that most books don't have artistic aspirations and are not aiming to be anything other than mindless entertainment is new. In fact what's new is the idea that everything is worth preserving (and also the internet making it easier to preserve it). The dumb artistically unambitious trash books of the past have survived only sporadically, because people thought of them as literally disposable.
When I was in college I had a professor who was an expert on detective fiction. He had a longstanding beef with the idea that "Murders in the Rue Morgue" was the first detective story. He thought that it seemed way too polished to be inventing a new genre, and also that the whole orangutan business had the vibe of someone subverting preexisting audience expectations and maybe engaging in a bit of stealth parody. With the help of some student volunteers, he went trawling through old magazines and newspapers and found hundreds of detective stories from the early 1800s that just hadn't garnered enough individual attention to be remembered. This was because most of them sucked balls. He created an online archive of them, so you too can read these mostly terrible stories.
I've spent a ridiculous amount of time on Project Gutenberg sifting through forgotten old fiction and lemme tell ya. a lot of that stuff sucks ass.

I don't take it as a gimme that a supposedly pro-trans environment is transfeminist. I go for months in a deep south red state getting she/her'd and ma'am'd by strangers, but in "woke" contexts I've been extensively they/them'd/degendered and spoken over due to being "an amab".
Obviously the average conservative would be far more dangerous to my person if clocked than any amount of microagressing Portlanders, so I don't consider it the absolute worst thing to deal with. But it's of note to me that I am less likely to be seen as a woman by so-called allies.
no matter how little you think you know about history you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it because there is always someone who knows less than you and is more confident about it. someone once said that bridgerton was medieval to me
another person also thought that the middle ages were the period in between wwi and wwii so you should always be proud of yourself for having any sort of knowledge about the medieval period. i’m proud of you for not thinking fdr was an important medieval figure.
when I first watched utena I noted how peculiar it was that people depicted in their coffins were always curled up in a fetal position instead of the typical coffin position of lying on their back with their hands crossed over. it just hit me now that it probably has to do with the egg speech given at the start of the student council sequences. the one inside the coffin shows the chick that died without breaking the shell, or being born. the coffin shows the safety of eternity at the cost of never growing or changing. the coffin is the egg that doesn't crack. the juxtaposition of the egg (new life and potential) and the coffin (death and stasis). the ending of Utena is open-ended, as Anthy has emerged from her coffin and has cracked the shell of the egg/her world, and now she's creating a life of her own. the coffin seems eternal but it can be escaped, that's why they aren't posed as if already dead. oh my god
day 14
she’s guiltily thought about betraying me about five billion times today but i HAVE to dress her up in cute little outfits

How people online TEND to react when you say you think an internet celebrity might be [Insert label here] but doesn't know it yet.
Autistic: "100%, they should look into it. Hope they can get more comfortable not masking."
Queer: "I know right? They shouldn't be afraid to come out!"
Disabled/chronically ill: "They should ask their doctor about it, and here are some resources that might help narrow it down."
Transfem: "WHAT?! HOW DARE YOU INSULT THEM LIKE THAT! PRESSURING PEOPLE INTO TRANSITIONING IS JUST AS BAD AS CONVERSION THERAPY! GATEKEEPING EXISTS FOR A REASON!"
reposting this so staff will have a harder time trying to make everyone forget it <3
