This revival of Oklahoma! directed by Bill Rauch casted every main character to be lesbian, gay, bi, or trans. This obviously created a whole new level of depth to the show, none more apparent than in one of the most iconic duets in musical theatre, “People Will Say We’re in Love.” Here Curly and Laurey talk about people thinking they’re in love with each other, and the hesitation they have to show affection for each other because of it, now influenced by comp het and the fear of what their community will think of their relationship.  Note: audio was posted with permission from the master.
