Welcome to My Mountain

While I'm grateful to the current job for helping me get familiar with the new area and paying a decent wage for what I do, I can feel in my bones that on both an emotional and logical level it's time to start looking for something more stable.

I know I won't find something overnight, but I'm still going to take action towards improving the situation, starting with speaking my intentions into existence wherever I can, including online on all of my active blogs. I do sometimes lean a little "woo-woo" and I believe in energies and something bigger out there. When I was first looking for a job in the area last year I interviewed and was hired freakishly fast, two weeks from moving I got a call back; and two weeks from that call I was hired.

And the job really helped me out! It's been nice doing meaningful work, being paid fairly for said work, and all the driving helped me get familiar with a new area.

But now that I've got those two basic things met (money to be able to afford life, not feeling totally lost in my surroundings) it's time to move up in Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I need a regular schedule that allows me to plan ahead and attend social events, so I can can make acquaintances and maybe eventually friends. We're coming up on almost a year in the new city and I haven't been able to make any friends on my own due to the mercurial nature of the scheduling system. There was a really strong sense of community in the town we moved from, and out of everything, that's what I miss the most. Also a regular schedule will help with planning out basic things like sleep. And meal planning. Basic, but important.
