"i've spent a good portion of my life delving into the mysteries of the night, studying various supernatural phenomena, including the effects of the full moon on different beings. though i...haven't done it myself, i know a lot about it."

His car had been in the shop for about a week now and he was curious to know what progress had been made. It was an old car, one he had for years and to part with it was something he couldn't do. caleb, looked up from his workbench, wiping his hands on a rag. he recognized the customer who had entrusted him with his beloved old car. with a friendly grin, he replied, "hey mr swan! yeah, we've been making some good progress on your car. it needed a bit of tlc, but we're getting it back into shape. i'd say give us another day or two, and she'll be running like a dream again."

faye's sultry smile deepened as caleb introduced himself, his slightly uneven tone only adding to her amusement. she leaned in closer, her voice a sensual blend of warmth and seduction. "his breath caught a little as she repeated his name, immediately entranced by the woman. why a woman like her was talking to a man like him he didn't know, but he'd savour it as long as it lasted. "it's nice to meet you faye." he looked to the shot with some surprise, eyebrows raising. it wasn't often he did shots when he had work the next day...but it wasn't often he had experiences like this before. picking up the shot he downed it, grimacing slightly as it burnt it's way down his chest. "so uh...are you out celebrating something tonight?" he couldn't help but wonder.

She had persuaded herself that she had moved on, and that she was happy for him to do so. However, as he stood in front of her, in a town of which she expected a fresh start, she was questioning herself. How can one person effect you so greatly? He had always had a way of getting to her, both in a good, and bad way. She however, tried her best to avoid showing her vulnerabilities, especially when it came to the man who broke her heart.

caleb couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt as he watched mary's defensive stance. he knew he had hurt her deeply, and it was evident that wounds from their past still lingered. he took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before he responded.

"Did you want something?" It was easy to tell when someone was lingering, feeling even more irritable than before. His first full moon was growing closer and he was no closer to working out to keep himself and others safe. Books seemed to lead him nowhere, despite his time in the library to obtain old books and mythology texts to aid in his discovery.

caleb leant against the bookshelves, a sympathetic look crossing his features. years ago he'd sat in a similar situation, many of the books stacked across the table ones he'd read cover to cover countless times. "looks as if you've been pouring over those books for days. i have some...experience with this subject matter - maybe I can help."

Cassie was in the local bar once again, this time with a cue in hand, engaging in a game of pool. Her hazel eyes were focused on the table as she lined up her shot, calculating the angle and the force needed to sink the ball into the corner pocket. She took the shot, and the cue ball hit its target, sending the striped ball rolling into the pocket. As she prepared for her next shot, a friendly-looking stranger approached her, holding a beer in one hand. They had been watching her game and seemed eager to offer some advice. ''If you're going to critique my shots get it over with instead of just watching.''

as he sipped his beer, caleb's gaze couldn't help but wander over to the pool table tucked to the side of the bar. he'd wanted a quick game, but the girl lent over the pool table seemed to be enjoying her game. her words, evidently called out to him made the warlock blink in surprise. "critique? oh, no - no i just wanted...i just wanted to play a game after you." he admitted.

She had not prepared what she would say when they met again. Hell, she had not gotten that far. She had tried to reassemble her life, try and persuade him and others that she was doing just fine on her own. Truth is, she was struggling. Her new found magic was proving difficult to control and become used to. She was grieving her old life, the easily navigated teenage years. She wished she had not dwelled on pity things back then, knowing they were trivial now.

as caleb looked into mary's eyes, his own filled with a mixture of emotions that he couldn't hide. he missed her more than he had let on, and the years apart had only made him realize just how much she meant to him. but caleb couldn't expose her to the supernatural world, he couldn't risk her life like that. she was so much more important than himself, and he could never risk hurting her with his true nature. and now, in front of her he wasn't sure what to say.

"well, hi there," faye greeted with her signature smirk, large eyes peering up at the other with feigned innocence.
