A story between an original and psychotic warlock hybrid who doesn't want to be a burden or a monster and a witch beginning to learn about who she is.
They start to connect over magic and help each other embrace their own identity.
Jeremy learns the truths and past about his hybrid nature , whilst Bonnie learns more about her bloodline and the dark and ancient magic too dangerous to cross the line.

I often complain about A-levels and the sheer difficulty and stress that comes from it, however I also thinks it's important to emphasis the immense privilege I have to an education, especially one that prepares me for university, where passion and knowledge is institutionalised and has been more accessible than ever before, yet so many women and girls in the world have been stripped away from this right, where their gender is veiwed as inherently inferior. So many women are subjected to the role of a housewife the moment they're born, their fate predetermined before they can form a conscious thought. Their environment and culture deficits them from the very thing I complain about. I am so incredibly privileged for my anxiety and worry to be directed towards academia and not the fact that it may be my last year of school before I'm married off, before I could even live as a teenager. Don't complain about having too much on your plate when the goal was to eat.
Do you know one character I pity and love in this train wreck of a show? Tyler. Tyler Lockwood.
Tyler, who had an abusive father who looked down on him, who had an uncle who was shady af and was killed by Damon, Tyler who found out he was a werewolf and had to deal with accidentally killing someone, Tyler who was almost sacrificed, Tyler who was killed, then turned into a hybrid servant to Klaus, Tyler who lost the girl that he loved multiple times, including when she slept with Klaus, who also murdered his friends and his mother, Tyler who was killed again and came back human for a while only to have to trigger his werewolf gene by killing his girlfriend, Tyler who was left for dead by the supposed protagonist of the show.
Tyler, who is hated mostly because of a ship (y’all know who you are), but had the best personal growth on the show, coming from being a selfish asshole to somebody who took a wooden bullet in public for his friends, somebody who was chased out of his own home town by an immortal tyrant and is shit on by fans and writers.
I will always defend you, my precious son.
(but seriously, the fans act like Tyler slut-shamed Caroline when all he did was tell her to leave him alone as he was upset, reasonably so. Then Stefan, in one of his less than finest moments, punched him)

Thinking about Bonnie the town witch. Long rant under the cut
Abby Bennett was the town witch, and her best friend asked for her to protect her infant daughter from one of the most dangerous vampires to ever exist. Abby had a baby daughter of her own, but she was the town witch, so she had to help. She took out Mikael, desiccated him, chained him up, and put him in a tomb. And all she had to do was stop a human heart
And then she never came back, because she didn't want to be the town witch. (so much that she was willing to abandon her infant daughter for 15 years with no contact)
“I had no magic. I was in a new city and I realized I had a chance to be somebody else. To be Abby Wilson, the woman...not Abby Bennett, the witch”
Bonnie learns her first lesson on being town witch from her Grams. When Bonnie expresses excitement for witchcraft, Grams immediately tells her that magic is serious.
Bonnie: Where's the witchcraft? I mean, you've been talking history for 2 days. I wanna get to the fun part.
Grams: It's not meant to be fun. It's real and it's serious, and you must understand it before you practice it.
And Bonnie learns how true that is when Grams dies doing a spell that Bonnie asked her to do. You will not catch me putting the blame on Bonnie for that (The whole opening the tomb plot was insisted on by Damon - he was making everyone’s lives hell from the get go and he made it clear he wasn’t gonna stop until he got what he want) but I know that girl must have felt guilt for what happened. And this is where Bonnie learns that magic really is serious, and it can kill her.
When Grams died, Bonnie was left alone at seventeen as the only witch in town. If anyone has a problem that may require magic, there is no one to go to besides Bonnie. It was on her to solve it. And most problems required a witch.
Bonnie does want to help, but it’s not out of pure altruism. It’s because she feels responsible. Bonnie is the only witch her friends know, and if there is a problem that requires magic, they have no one else to go to but her.
She didn’t really have any other options, the one time she tried to work against vampires by not deactivating the device, it ended in disaster and Caroline was turned into a vampire and then killed someone. So Bonnie learns that she needs to be available to solve these problems - she needs to do what the group wants her to do or people get hurt.
Bonnie does a locator spell to find Elena, and its physically taxing on her, but through her magic, Elena is saved successfully. So Bonnie learns that if she fights past her pain to use her magic, she can keep people she loves from being taken or killed.
Bonnie: It's anything but cool. Did your family journals tell you what happened to Emily? Or what about my Grams? It never ends well for people like me.
Jeremy: If you feel that way, why help?
Bonnie: Because I don't want anyone else getting hurt and I don't know how to stay out of it.
When Bonnie meets other witches, she wants to connect with them so badly it breaks my heart. With Lucy, she was practically begging her to stay because she didn’t want to be the town witch, she doesn't want to keep being pulled in the middle of these supernatural conflicts by vampires. But Lucy tells her ‘Unlike me, you're one of the good ones, Bonnie. The middle of it is exactly where you need to be’. And Bonnie learns that because she is responsible, because she cares about people getting hurt, because she's ‘good’ - she needs to keep carrying this weight. She needs to keep being the town witch.
And it is so clear that Bonnie doesn’t want to be alone in this burden. Luka shows up and she immediately confides in him, trusts him and relies on him. She tells him about the moonstone and asks his help to destroy it. And he takes that trust and he uses it to trick her so he can take the moonstone. So Bonnie learns that she can’t trust outside witches, which isolates her even further. Now she’s unlikely to even seek out other witches who may be able to help her.
And all of this puts all this pressure on her to be able to solve these problems, to be strong enough and powerful enough to handle the magic that her loved ones keep needing. Eventually she hits a bump. A spell is too much for her or she doesn’t know how to do it. Which leads into her own self doubt when she cannot meet the demands required of the only witch in a supernatural hot spot. So she overcompensates with these huge painful powerups, pushes through the pain, until something happens and she loses the power up (because the plot needed it or because the spirits were being nasty to her again). And then she is either back to square one or her magic is blocked entirely. She is sidelined until she can get her magic back. And then the cycle starts again.
Bonnie is a hero, not because she sought it out, but because she was born into an ancient magic bloodline that she didn’t even know about until she was sixteen. She feels like she has to be because it’s what her Grams would have done, because Lucy told her it was where she needed to be, because her friends need her, because she doesn’t want people to get hurt.
Anyway, this is all to say that everytime Damon makes a crack about her being useless when she is depowered, I wanna beat him to death with a crowbar.
Everyone cries they want complicated female characters, but they can't even take Bonnie's hang ups around vampires or acknowledge that Caroline fucking Klaus was thoughtless and cruel, even if it probably felt good as fuck. What you really want is to self insert an OC to fuck whatever lame male character you idolize. It's cool, really, because OCs are so fun but also a little lame when used in this way. Fuck at least one woman in your life I beg you
genuinely freaking out. I have to give a small speech in assembly tomorrow that i’m a house captain.. How do you write a good and short speech tryna motivate a bunch of teen girl who clearly dgaf.
I'm so scared for Fadel. His family keeps finding him unconscious on the ground, terrified he has died from starvation. This winter, lack of medication and food has kept him near death unable to stabilize and recover. He was hospitalized again for severe anemia and released the day before yesterday. Today he told me his kidney hurts, and that every moment is his body is agonizing pain that he cannot endure much longer.
Fadel needs to get to a better resourced hospital to treat his injuries from the Israeli bombing of his home. Tens of thousands of people like him require urgent medical evacuation from Gaza for injuries and illness, and hundreds have already died while waiting for Israel's permission to leave. Now Israel is using the war with Iran to justify closing all crossings. Please donate so he can survive until the crossings reopen. Donate so he can afford to travel to get proper treatment.
Fadel and his family have already barely been able to afford enough food to stay alive, even while forgoing necessary medication. Whenever crossings are closed, the imposed scarcity results in the price of food and medicine in Gaza surging. Last week a bag of flour was $80. Now it's already surged to $200.
