This is where the frontier pushes back.
thatâs just typical
anonymous said:Â I canât be the only one who thought of Dadneto and his kids in those Hanukkah jumpers, right?
definitely not the only one! (hanukkah jumper post)
it has recently been brought to my attention that the jumper wanda is wearing in the original post has text on it which is both misogynistic and anti-Semitic. I am not Jewish, and I had no idea that the jumper was so gross, but ignorance is not an excuse and I should have done more research beforehand. Iâve edited out the offensive text and ask that you guys delete the old post from your blogs and reblog this new one instead. @fromchaostocosmos and @shoshanish - thank you for your patience and graciousness.Â
Quality time with the Grandpas.Â
Not exactly a meet cute but Charles didnât wanna go to that potluck with the Summers family anyway.
This is from that prompt that Iâm too lazy to link to at the moment Iâll do it later *thumbs up emoji*

Last night I dreamed I was arguing about some political thing. Whatever it was about, the other person insisted that actually Karl Marx had a well-developed theory about it, but that most people didnât know because he kept it in the lower right part. And I said, huh? And they went on to explain in some detail that Marx kept his different theories in different parts of his beard.
thatâs why itâs so big
itâs full of theories

the Sentinels of the future to be derived from Darwinâs power, instead of Ravenâs? His power better aligns to how they behave in the movie â adapting to attacks. With her power, Sentinels would have been able to appear as something other than big scary robots.
They could have easily brought Darwin into the plot without losing precious Raven/Mystique as the central figure in the film, since we know they wanted to bank of JLaw as much as humanly possible. To me, the main benefit of her is watching Charles and Erik go at it like divorcees over her. Otherwise, she irks me but I digressâŚ
Darwin could have been captured by the govt. and handed over to Trask after he reformed himself. Mystique could have gained this intel and made it her mission not only to kill Trask but save Darwin whose still in custody all these years later as he canât die.
I wonder if motivations would have been different with Darwin in the mix. Maybe Charles would been a bit more angry or saw it a chance to keep a promise to Darwin as he failed Raven. Maybe Erik would taken a more nuanced approach with someone needing to be saved, especially since he failed to save JFK and has a chance to get it right. Who knows?! But I do know thisâŚÂ
We still miss you Darwin!
I love comics/cartoons Mystique, but Iâm unimpressed by Jennifer Lawrence girl-next-door Mystique (wasnât all that enamored with Rebecca Romijn lackey Mystique, either, but at least she was confident and powerful). Darwin was basically too good for this trash franchise--his mutation was way too useful and he was way too reasonable to keep around.

For Fury Roadâs fluid editing, Miller called upon his wife, Margaret Sixel, who had spent most of her career editing documentaries and had never cut an action movie before. âWeâve got teenage sons, but Iâm the one who goes to the action movies with them!â laughed Miller. âSo when I asked her to do Mad Max, she said, âWell, why me?â And I said, âBecause then itâs not going to look like other action movies.â And it doesnât. Compare the smart, iterative set pieces of Fury Road to one of the incoherent car chases in Spectre, for example, and youâll see that Sixel prizes a sense of spatial relationships that has become all too rare in action movies. âSheâs a real stickler for that,â said Miller. âAnd it takes a lot of effort! Itâs not just lining up all the best shots and stringing them together, and sheâs very aware of that. Sheâs also looking for a thematic connection from one shot to the next. If it regressed the characters and their relationships, sheâd be against that. And she has a very low boredom threshold, so thereâs no repetition.â That Sixel was able to whittle 480 hours of footage down into a movie that sings still astounds Miller. âItâs like working in the head of a great composer,â he said. âMovies like this one â in particular this one, because itâs almost a silent movie â are like visual music. In the same way that a composer has to have a strong casual relationship from one note to the next, paying attention tempo and melodic line and overall structure, itâs exactly the same process that a film editor must have.â Sixel, surely, is one of the greats.
Director George Miller Explains Why His Mad Max: Fury Road Deserves These Oscar Nominations (via jag-lskardig)
so good on George Miller for giving credit to his wife and colleague. that said, FUCK YESÂ women have ALWAYS edited for male directors without getting any recognition within the industry let alone any kind of mainstream acclaim. I mean, film editing isnât really on the radar for most moviegoers/watchers so yeah, I donât expect people to know this? But goddamn, even so many self-proclaimed film and cinema buffs fail to realize that so many of the âbestâ movies (mostly directed by men, natch) were edited by women. Does anyone remember that quote/anecdote about male directors discouraging their female film editors - or even actively sabotaging potential opportunities - because they didnât want to lose the person who made sense of all their footage?Â
