All endermen have some core abilities; dark fur/scales, teleportation, and weakness to water. However, culture and biology varies massively from dimension to dimension.
Overworld Endermen
Overworld endermen are built more like large rabbits as opposed to your typical enderman. They have a thick double coat of black fur that insulates them, and long rabbit-like ears that help them hear sharply from very far away. Their eyes are large and round, and come in many different colors- although a vibrant green is the most common. They have large paws with sharp claws on the end, and stand at three blocks tall, around nine feet. Young endermen stand around one to two blocks tall.
The endermen’s coat of fur is very useful for getting rid of water, as they’re able to shake water off from rain or rivers. Their skin underneath is quite sensitive to liquids, and water getting past the fur poses a unique danger to them.
Overworld endermen form large hauntings, consisting of a leader, several adults, and quite a few adolescents Overworld hauntings move infrequently, often arriving at areas after heavy rain seasons have passed and creating small homes in caves. Many hauntings may permanently settle in dry areas, creating simple, tall structures that can accommodate all members of a haunting.
Endermen are omnivorous, and their diets range from various fruits to medium sized animals like small pigs and sheep. They’re foragers and hunters, with most members of a haunting going out to hunt in shifts, with a few adults staying at their den to keep watch over the youngest. Endermen eat quite a bit, as teleporting is energy-consuming.
Nether Endermen
Nether endermen are scaled, stocky creatures who roam the nether, far different than the other two variants. They have dark overlapping scales that help to protect them from the heat of the nether. They’re quite short, standing at around two blocks tall, and adolescents tend to sit around a block tall. They’re also quite tough, and can take quite a few hits before they flee. Their scales make them lavaproof, but the much faster than thinner water can easily get to the fragile skin underneath. Their eyes are tall slits in round sockets, and range from reds, oranges, and yellows. Orange is the most common color.
Nether endermen form tight-knit, small hauntings with comparatively few adolescents. They’re very nomadic, and move frequently from biome to biome. They tend to stay in Warped Forests, and hauntings that meet up will often share supplies, stories, and travel together before separating.
Nether endermen are creatures of opportunity, hunting and foraging whatever they can. Nether endermen have been known to face off against hoglins and piglin brutes for food, and forage for mushrooms, hunt striders, and bargain for supplies with piglin settlements and nether fortresses. All members of the haunt help in hunting and foraging.
End Endermen
Endermen from the End are the original form, with the two variants coming to the Nether and the Overworld later and evolving. They're sleek, tall creatures with glassy, small scales that from a distance, looks like obsidian skin. They stand at three blocks or nine feet tall. Young endermen stand two blocks tall. They’re tall and thin, with sharp claws on their hands and claw-like feet designed for gripping end stone and obsidian. Their eyes are vertical slits, coming exclusively in a purple color.
Due to the nature of their home, End Endermen do not have any natural protection to liquids. They have a much larger teleportation range however, along with a much longer vision range.
A haunting in the End is a large, expanded network typically spanning an entire island's population. Adolescents are independent at a young age, and they have a structured hierarchy system. The central island houses the current living dragon family, comprising of the Dragon Queen and any endermen and hatchlings taken in by the queen. Each outer island has a noble family in charge of the island, who report back to the Queen. Each island functions as a separate state, working independently and trading with other islands for building supplies, food, and other necessities.
End endermen eat exclusively chorus fruit, and both adults and adolescents help farm the fruit. However, they have sharp, bladed teeth for ripping into the fruit's skin and for self defense, giving it the appearance of a more carnivorous diet.
~•~•~•~
Trying to solidify my lore for minecraft and its... something lol. Wanted the endermen to feel wholly unique for each dimension, as opposed to all of them looking the same. Not based on any sort of science, but hopefully it makes sense?

Gotham Academy had a reputation for producing future leaders, geniuses, and the occasional vigilante-adjacent problem child. It did not, however, have a protocol for “student who does not react to being harmed in ways that should be medically concerning.”
Danny Fenton transferred in mid-semester with paperwork that was somehow both perfectly valid and deeply suspicious. No one could quite explain why his records had gaps the size of small countries, or why his emergency contact was listed as “Do Not Call, He’ll Show Up Anyway.”
Damian Wayne noticed him immediately.
Not because Danny was loud. Not because he was disruptive. But because he was wrong.
It started small. A fall down the stairs that should have broken something. Danny stood up, brushed himself off, and asked if anyone had seen his pen.
Then there was the lab incident. A beaker shattered, glass slicing across Danny’s palm. Blood—definitely blood—dripped onto the floor.
“Are you injured?” Damian demanded.
Danny blinked at his hand like he’d just remembered it existed. “Huh. That’s inconvenient.” He wiped it on his sleeve. The cut was gone before the teacher even reached them.
Damian did not forget.
He started watching.
And the more he watched, the worse it got.
Danny never flinched. Not at loud noises, not at sudden movements, not even when a knife—an actual knife—ended up embedded in his side during what the administration later called a “targeted security breach.”
“You’ve been stabbed,” Damian said flatly.
Danny looked down. “Oh. That explains the weird pressure.” He pulled it out like it was a splinter. “Do you think I can still make it to lunch?”
Damian was beginning to suspect that this was either the most elaborate act of idiocy he had ever witnessed, or something far more dangerous.
Then came the night the League of Assassins breached Gotham Academy.
It was quiet at first. Too quiet. The kind of silence that pressed against your ears and made your instincts scream.
Damian was already moving before the alarms could sound.
He found Danny in the hallway.
Of course he did.
Three assassins surrounded him. Blades drawn. Efficient. Lethal.
Danny, meanwhile, was mid-sentence.
“—and I’m just saying, if you’re going to break into a school, at least commit to the aesthetic. This is very ‘budget ominous.’”
One of them struck.
The blade went clean through his shoulder.
Damian lunged forward—
—and stopped.
Danny didn’t react.
Not a scream. Not a gasp. Just a pause, like someone had interrupted him mid-thought.
“…rude,” Danny finished, then looked at the sword sticking out of him. “You mind?”
He pulled it out.
The wound closed.
The assassins hesitated.
For the first time, Damian saw uncertainty in their stance.
Danny tilted his head. “Are you guys here for me? Because if this is about Vlad, you should know he’s going to be insufferable about it.”
A new presence filled the hallway.
Cold. Ancient. Intent.
Ra’s al Ghul stepped forward from the shadows.
“So,” Ra’s said softly, “you are the one.”
Danny squinted. “Oh. You’re the boss fight.”
Damian felt it then—the shift. The tension tightening like a wire about to snap.
Ra’s studied Danny with unsettling focus. “You do not fear death.”
Danny shrugged. “It’s kind of a long story.”
A pause.
Then Ra’s smiled.
“Good,” he said. “That will make this far more interesting.”
Somewhere, unseen, another figure watched the scene unfold with quiet amusement.
Vlad Masters leaned against nothing, invisible, entirely too entertained.
“Oh,” he murmured, conjuring a bucket of popcorn out of thin air, “this is going to be delightful.”
And Damian Wayne, for perhaps the first time in his life, was not entirely sure who was in danger.
[Continue reading → The Night Gotham Realized Danny Fenton Was Not Normal]
Danny burns through a LOT of calories being Phantom. Not only because he's burning so much energy by moving like he does, but also because of his healing factor making him burn even more calories. To combat this, he not only has to eat a LOT of protein, which he mostly gets by eating double and triple decker burgers two or three times a day, but he also needs to consume a lot more glucose. Or to say it more simply, he needs sugar. A lot of it. So he snacks. Constantly. To the point hat it was rare to not see Danny munching on a chocolate protein bar, eating handfuls of Nerds candies, biting into a cookie, or ripping open a bag of chips.
Which, honestly, wouldn't ping anyone as weird. He was a growing teenager and it wasn't like the football team wasn't eating between classes themselves. What was weird, however, was the brands of the stuff he was eating. Some of it was normal stuff from the gas station, some of it was clearly from some asian country if the lettering was anything to go by, and other snacks were most definitely NOT from Earth, like the weird blue tangerine thing with neon yellow seeds and smelled like muffins.
There’s no dramatic music. No glowing countdown. No sign that reality just decided to ruin your day.
One second, Danny Fenton is mid-flight over Amity Park, chasing a ghost with a half-eaten burger still in his hand.
The next—
Everything tears.
Not explodes. Not shatters.
Tears.
Like someone dragged claws through the sky.
He lands hard.
But it’s not Amity anymore.
The air feels wrong. Heavy. Charged. Angry.
Danny looks up—
And immediately regrets having eyes.
The sky is filled with winged monsters. Buildings are on fire. People are screaming. Something massive is moving behind the clouds like a nightmare trying to crawl out of its cage.
“…okay,” Danny says slowly, “either I took a wrong turn or this is a really bad Tuesday.”
Then he looks down.
And pauses.
“…these are not my hands.”
Gloved. Scarred. Older.
There’s a sword at his side.
A very nice sword.
Danny picks it up.
It hums.
“Oh. Oh that’s fun.”
Somewhere else—
A completely different kind of disaster is happening.
They wake up on a rooftop.
Breathing hard.
Alive.
Which is already confusing.
Because the last thing they remember is being in the middle of a war zone, surrounded by enemies, barely holding the line—
And now?
Silence.
No explosions.
No screams.
Just… wind.
They sit up.
Look down.
Hoodie. Jeans. Sneakers.
No armor.
No weapons.
No—
“…no.”
They try to call their power.
Nothing answers.
Panic hits fast and sharp.
“No no no no—”
They rush to the edge of the building.
Below: a quiet street. A normal town. People walking. Cars passing.
No war.
No monsters.
No them.
“…where am I?”
Back in the apocalypse—
Danny is having a great time.
“Okay, so,” he narrates to absolutely no one, ducking under a blast of energy, “either I’m in someone else’s body or I got a serious upgrade overnight.”
He swings the sword.
A Parademon goes down.
“Leaning toward option one.”
Another one lunges.
Danny doesn’t even think—he phases halfway through the attack, solidifies, and kicks it away.
He freezes.
“…oh good, powers came with me. That would’ve been awkward.”
The comm in his ear crackles.
“Unidentified—state your status!”
Danny lights up.
“Oh cool, free tech.”
“Identify yourself.”
“Danny! Uh… I think I’m borrowing someone right now? Sorry about that.”
Pause.
“…what?”
“I think I soul-swapped with whoever this body belongs to. You guys seem busy though, so I’ll just—help?”
Another Parademon dives.
Danny flips, lands on a wall, runs three steps sideways like gravity is optional, then drops back down with a grin.
“Yeah, I’ll help.”
Across the battlefield, every hero listening comes to the same horrifying conclusion:
That is not their teammate.
“Track that signal,” Batman orders.
“Already on it,” Oracle says. “And you’re not going to like this.”
“I rarely do.”
“That energy spike? It’s not just the invasion.”
A beat.
“It’s him.”
Danny discovers the dog five minutes later.
It’s huge.
Glowing.
Three-eyed.
Growling like it could bite a tank in half.
Danny stares.
The dog stares back.
There’s a moment—
Then Danny crouches.
“…you look like a Cujo.”
The dog’s ears twitch.
“Oh my gosh, are you a good boy?”
The growling stops.
Tail—very slowly—wags.
“YES you are!”
Two minutes later—
Danny is riding the ghost dog straight through the battlefield.
“LEFT! LEFT—no your other left—yeah that one!”
They crash through enemies like a living wrecking ball.
Danny laughs, wind tearing past him, green energy flickering under his skin as Lazarus radiation curls toward him instead of away.
It doesn’t hurt.
It doesn’t corrupt.
It listens.
“…huh,” Danny mutters. “That’s new.”
Meanwhile—
His soulmate finds the truth the hard way.
They break into the lab.
Because of course there’s a lab.
And inside—
A mirror.
They look at it.
Really look.
Black hair.
Blue eyes.
Too young.
Too human.
“…Danny,” they whisper, reading the name off a scattered ID badge.
Memory flickers.
Not theirs.
His.
A ghost portal.
A lab accident.
A boy split between life and death.
Power—immense and unstable and lonely.
Their stomach drops.
“…you’re a child.”
Back in Gotham—
Things escalate.
Fast.
The sky splits wider.
Something begins to push through.
Not a creature.
Not exactly.
A presence.
Old. Hungry. Endless.
Even the Parademons hesitate.
Even the heroes step back.
Danny looks up.
Eyes wide.
Then—
He grins.
“Oh that is definitely not from around here.”
“Fall back!” someone shouts over comms. “That’s not something we can—”
Danny’s already moving.
“Okay, new plan,” he says, patting the dog’s head. “We go say hi.”
They launch.
Straight at it.
“STOP HIM—” Nightwing starts.
“—you’re not going to,” Red Robin says, watching the energy readings spike off the charts.
“Why not?”
“Because whatever he is?”
A beat.
“It’s not scared of that.”
Danny reaches the tear in the sky.
The thing behind it shifts.
Noticing him.
Focusing.
And for the first time—
It pauses.
Danny tilts his head.
“…oh. You can see me.”
The presence presses closer.
Curious.
Hungry.
Recognizing something it shouldn’t.
Danny’s voice drops.
Not playful anymore.
Not human.
“Yeah,” he says quietly. “I see you too.”
For a second—
The battlefield goes still.
Then Danny lifts a hand.
Green light floods the sky.
Cold. Ancient. Infinite.
Not Lazarus.
Not alien.
Something older than both.
“Hey,” Danny says.
Friendly.
Terrifying.
“Wrong universe.”
And he pushes.
The tear screams.
The presence recoils.
Reality snaps back like a stretched rubber band.
The sky seals.
The invasion stutters—
Then collapses.
Parademons scatter.
The war… ends.
Silence falls.
Danny blinks.
“…huh. That worked.”
Below—
Every hero is staring.
Batman steps forward.
Slow.
Measured.
“…who are you?”
Danny smiles.
A little sheepish now.
“Danny Fenton.”
A beat.
“…I think I’m your teammate’s soulmate?”
Across dimensions—
His soulmate finally understands why.
They look at Danny’s reflection again.
At the quiet town.
At the life he protects.
At the power he carries like it’s nothing.
“…of course you are,” they murmur.
Back in Gotham—
The ghost dog barks happily.
Danny hops down.
Hands the sword back like he didn’t just end an apocalypse with it.

Some occult group thinks the Fenton portal is a great option for summoning Hades. Hades is lord of the underworld and Phantom is king of the restless dead, which would normally make them equals. Except Danny has home field advantage (deathplace/grave/lifetime focal location. He was probably born there too, given his parents). Wonder Woman was working with JL Dark to stop the cult from summoning Hades only to see him get curb-stomped by a tiny teenager, who is also apparently a death god.
the concept of just a tiny Danny kicking an ancient god's ass is incredible
These fucks summon Actual Original Greek Myth Hades, who:
- does not give a fuck about killing people, everyone comes to him he can wait
- is about as destructive as a sleeping kitten
- barely fucking pays attention offerings were mostly to HIS WIFE and HER MOM to get favour from him
- is also the god of wealth, volcanoes, and diamonds
Hades pops through this portal in full “what the fuck where am I where did everybody go” to see a room full of cultists in pitched battle with superheroes, and also Danny, who is another death god
There are two options from here:
1) Hades spots Danny, locks in on him as “ah yes an adult I shall ask him wtf is going on” and is utterly befuddled when Danny kicks his ass but assumes it’s a challenge or something and fights back
2) Hades gives a version of “wrong number, sorry” and dips
Maybe the League freak out because Where Did He Go What Is He Doing The God Of Death Is Loose
And Diana has to explain to them (yet again) that Hades is not Satan, he’s gone fucking home because Zeus THOUGHT he gave Hades the shitty kingdom…
But he fucking gave him the one with all the wealth of the universe, and all Hades has to do is chill the fuck out and wait because even the gods will come to him in time
There is a reason you only really see him in myths as a passive observer someone else wants something from, with the sole exception of Persephone
He’s like the one guy who did not get Ouranos’ Dramatic Bitch Genes (even Persephone’s story was fucking tame as far as the Greeks go, he grabbed her, pulled her down, and offered her a snack, no animal transformations or shit)
Hell, if Persephone’s in the story she’s usually the one making the final call (holla Orpheus) Hades deadass is not an active guy
He doesn’t have to be
He’s a whale shark just vibing along and occasionally someone grabs his fin
(He would however be very grateful if Danny or Diana could spread the word and stop people from trying to summon him for destruction it’s embarrassing and Zeus gets pissy they didn’t text him
Mr Lightning Bolt would like to be considered)
Anyway sorry it’s just that the constant monotheistic lenses on polytheistic religions gets on my tits and it’s also funnier if Danny thinks he’s fighting to the death against a very confused upper level manager
Danny: I WON’T LET YOU DESTROY THE WORLD *big dramatic attack*
Persephone comes home after the Summer with her mother to find an excited Hades waiting for her.
Hades: darling, I got you a present!!
Persephone: *senses shenanigans, but Hades does always give her lovely gifts* and where is this gift, husband mine?
Hades: *pulls her hand excitedly towards the dining room* Danny, this is my wife Persephone! Darling, this is Danny. He's come to have lunch with us!
Danny: *thinks that Hades is just happy that his wife is home and to have a friendly visitor*
Danny: Hello!! I love your garden! I've always wanted to learn how to grow plants, but the death energy at my house makes them come out really weird. They either don't grow, or they grow sentient.
Persephone: *he got me a son of my own!!* really?? Oh, you will love the lunch then. We grow all our own food in my personal garden. Hades takes such good care of it while I'm gone.
Hades: *vibrates with happiness* guess what else, light of my life?? He's half and half like you are!!
*distant crashes of Cujo and Cerberus tussling in their giant form*
How dare some completely mortal person take the username TheGhostKing on twitch before he could?
Look, the human probably thought they were being funny, and they didn’t know that there was an actual ghost king with a throne and everything. That ghost king being Nico DiAngelo, son of Hades.
It wasn’t fair. It had taken Leo ages to manage to get a streaming setup for Demigods that didn’t attract monsters. Nico had set up an account as quick as he could, ready to showcase his gaming prowess to the world. (Nico did spend decades in a casino after all. He was an amazing gamer).
And yet, the title that was rightfully Nico’s had been taken.
Nico sent a message to the user, ready to fight for his claim. This could only go well.
//-\\-//-\\
Danny Fenton had no idea who was messaging him about being the actual ghost king, but they were a liar.
After all, Danny was the ghost king, he had won the title through combat fair and square. It came with a few responsibilities, sure, but Pariah Dark had been sleeping on the job, and no disasters had happened.
So he meant no disrespect to DeadTired22, it was probably just some weird kid pulling a prank on him.
But some of the things DeadTired said were… interesting.
DeadTired: I am the ghost king, I have a throne and everything.
TheGhostKing: I know the actual ghost king, and he said you’re lying.
DeadTired: Dude, I know this is probably some joke to you. But you, a foolish human unaware of your place in the universe, shouldn’t joke about things beyond your comprehension, lest you anger the very forces you imitate.
TheGhostKing: Bold of you to assume I’m human.
DeadTired: Who are you then? Midas? There’s a difference between “Ghost that is a king” and “king of ghosts”. I am the second. We are not the same.
TheGhostKing: Eh, why not spill to strangers on the internet? It’s not like you actually know me irl…
“Father.” Nico and Hazel marched into Hades throne room. If they weren’t his kids, Hades would’ve smited them. Only his family had the privilege to act like that.
And Percy Jackson, but that was a different situation. Killing Percy would be asking for war, and, more importantly, Nico would be sad that his dad attacked his friend.
Hades tried his best to look impassive. “Son. Daughter. What brings you to my domain?”
Nico looked Hades in the eyes. “Do I have another sibling?”
What.
“Where would you get such an idea? Did you forget the oath I made to not have anymore children?”
“Well, your brothers both broke the oath, so…” Hazel said.
“My brothers” Hades spat, “are fools. I have no living demigods but you two.”
Hazel turned to her brother. “Maybe he’s a different pantheon, then. I told you not to jump to conclusions.”
“Sorry, Father.” Nico said.
“You are forgiven, my son.”
“Maybe we should get Annabeth’s help on this. She and Percy are always the best to talk to about other pantheons.” Hazel said.
Hades frowned. If only his precious children would come to their father with their problems. Hades wanted to help them, give them fatherly guidance. But his children were running off to other demigods? Hades had a brief thought of smiting the child of Athena for keeping away what was rightfully his, before brushing it off. Nico would be sad.
“I might be able to offer my assistance.” Hades said casually.
“I don’t want to bother you, Father, I’m sure you’re very busy.” Nico said.
“You’re already here, and I’m offering.”
“It’s not that important” Nico dismissed.
“So unimportant you came marching down into my throne room demanding answers?” Hades raised his voice.
“I already apologized for that! Gods, you’re so-“
Hazel interrupted before Nico could insult the lord of the dead. “Nico found someone who claims to be the ghost king on the internet.”
“Son, you cannot believe everything you read on those forums” Hades explained as though Nico was five.
“There’s more than that, though.” Nico turned on his laptop and showed the messages to his father.
DeadTired: Are you my brother?
TheGhostKing: ??? I don’t think so??? Then again, I did discover a sibling by complete surprise once, so there’s always a chance.
DeadTired: I get that, same thing happened to me.
TheGhostKing: Dude, maybe we are siblings. Is your dad an incredibly powerful man with delusions of grandeur and a creepy basement?
DeadTired: you really shouldn’t insult my father like that.
TheGhostKing: and you’re half human too?
DeadTired: yep.
TheGhostKing: another sibling, dang. It’ll be helpful to have more people that can fight baddies with me. High school is tough when you have to save your town from the latest wack job.
DeadTired: and the adhd and dyslexia sucks too
TheGhostKing: how did you know???
DeadTired: runs in the family. Me and my sister have it. By the way, where are you training? I haven’t heard of any siblings in either camp, but with the wars I might’ve missed something.
TheGhostKing: what wars?
DeadTired: …oh no. How old are you, again?
TheGhostKing: 19
DeadTired: you’re still alive, and you haven’t been to camp??? Hold up, I need to have a talk with my dad.
TheGhostKing: k.
Hades read through the messages. On one hand, it could be a demigod from the Norse pantheon or something. On the other hand, Hades got a distinct feeling of dread.
“I might know who this is.” Hades said. “I’ll call him” Hades reached into his pockets and pulled out a rotary phone (he had very large pockets).
“Now while I’m more familiar with sending physical messages, I believe texting is more polite these days, yes?” Hades looked up at his son for confirmation. Nico nodded, stunned at his Dad’s absurd decision to use ancient technology. If Nico could adapt to the times, so could his dad.
It would at least be less ridiculous than this- Nico watched as the king of the underworld spun the dial on the phone wildly, typing a message in the most inconvenient way possible.
Nico didn’t even know it was possible to send a test using a rotary phone. It probably wasn’t- but Hades had magic and whatnot.
The sound of the dial echoing around Hades’ massive throne room was the only disturbance for several minutes. Nico didn’t dare leave- his dad would be passive aggressive about it later if he did.
Finally, Hades inputted the last of the numbers.
Hades smirked, proud of himself. Whether that was since Hades thought he was with the times, or if this was some elaborate ruse on his children, Nico would never know.
“I have invited someone for a chat. I suspect he may be the friend you met online. He should arrive shortly.”
“You’re being very polite.” Hazel noted. Indeed- usually the gods wouldn’t ask for people’s presence like that.
“You seem surprised. Am I not normally courteous to you mortals?” Hades spoke with a bit of an edge to his tone.
All the answers Nico could think of were the wrong ones. Sure, Nico was sassy at times, but he actually did have self preservation, unlike Percy.
“If only Grandfather was as polite as you. He could’ve asked permission first before trying to take over the world.” Hazel expertly defused the situation with a joke.
While yes, their grandfather was a touchy subject, mocking the guy seemed to be a dead-certain way of relieving tension at a family reunion.
Hades laughed, a deep thing that made the earth shake beneath them. “Perhaps,” he started, losing his speech briefly in laughter before collecting himself again, “he could’ve asked permission before eating me alive.”
Nico laughed at the joke, pretending it was hilarious instead of uncomfortable.
The laughter eventually died down.
“What now?” Nico asked.
“We wait. I have a game of Scrabble, if you’d like to play? Athena has been raving about board games lately, and I’d prefer to play with someone whose company I actually enjoy.”
“I’m dyslexic.”
“Right. I’m sure I have some game you like…”
Nico picked the least offensive option. His dad was far too competitive to play monopoly or uno, and he’d rather crawl through Tartarus again than play cards against humanity with his dad.
Hades and his children all sat down for a round of Candyland.
//-\\-//-\\
After hades was sent back to the Candy Cane forest for the third time, (Nico was definitely cheating) a someone knocked on the door.
It wasn’t just any door, it was the one Hades had told his children explicitly never to touch. Hazel had her theories as to where it led, and most of those were unpleasant in one way or another.
Hades immediately stood up, and answered the door.
As it opened, green smoke poured out. Hazel peeked behind the forbidden doorway- the space flickered between a dark red sky, complete black, and a strange expanse of green and purple.
It hurt Hazels eyes to look at the shifting landscape, so she instead turned her eyes to the stranger at the door. He appeared a few years older than Nico, but that didn’t mean much with the Gods regularly shifting their appearance. His dark hair and impish grin made him look a bit like Percy. Something about his eyes though reminded her of death, something Hazel was fairly familiar with.
“Sup?” Said the man in the doorway to Lord Hades, King of the Dead, God of the Underworld.
Hades bristled a bit at the lack of respect, yet he didn’t smite or threaten the doorway guy- which pointed to Doorway guy being either a god or someone with enough power that he can afford to disrespect the gods like that.
Another point where he’s similar to Percy.
“I thought Princess Dorethea was teaching you manners- like the proper way to address a king.”
“Yeah, but you know I don’t like those stuffy titles and whatnot. If I don’t have to use them, I don’t.”
“Hm.” Hades grunted. Hades actually liked titles quite a bit, they made him feel important. He also enjoyed formalities to an absurd degree. He was the kind of guy who wore three piece suits to bed.
There was also the fact that Nico and Hazel knew quite well: Hades was just as petty as the rest of the gods.
A wide smirk spread across Hades face. “Son, Daughter, I would like you to meet High King of the Infinite Realms,” the doorway stranger rolled his eyes. “Child of the Veil, Guardian of doorways,”
“That’s enough” Danny looked embarrassed, as though Hades was showing off his baby photos.
“Traverser of Timelines, Hero of Amity Park”
“Seriously Hades, we don’t need to be here all night!” The guy lept at Hades.
“Breaker of the Flaming Siren, Weilder of Fear, Bearer of Mortality,” Hades continued on, dodging the kids attempts to silence him in good nature.
The guy was quite speedy with good reflexes, but Hades was a god who could turn into shadows. Eventually, the guy tired himself out.
“Please, oh great god of death, end this suffering.” The guy said, before lying on the floor and accepting his fate.
Hades, pleased with having made someone else beg for mercy, finished the titles with a grand “Danny Phantom.”
Danny waved from his position on the floor.
“I’m Nico.” He introduced himself, rather than letting his dad do it. Nico knew he didn’t want Hades to list off titles, since his dad would sneak in titles like “cleaner of bathrooms”, complete with paperwork to back it up.
“Let me get this straight.” Said Hazel. “You’re… a half-immortal kid who’s gone on some cool missions, and your kind-of-parent is the fabric between life and death, and the space between realities?” She summarized, having paid attention, since someone had to.
“Pretty much, yeah. I was a normal kid until a lab accident, and now I’m half ghost. Evil ghosts tried to invade my town, so I beat them up. Then I beat the king of ghosts, and now I’m the king of ghosts.”
“Sweet” Nico said. “I also beat up a ghost king- different ghost king- and now am the ghost king. Hades is my dad.”
“Wait… you wouldn’t happen to be DeadTired, would you? Cause otherwise there are three people who are Ghost Kings, and I don’t think I can keep up with that.”
“Yeah, that’s me.” Nico said.
“Nico freaked out and thought you were our sibling.” Hazel explained. “So he went to dad, and dad sent you a message.”
“Sweet. Well, now we know why there’s two ghost kings.” Danny said.
“How does this power structure thing work anyway?” Nico asked. “Like, if we both gave orders to a ghost, whose orders would the ghost have to follow?”
Danny laughed. “Ghosts? Following orders? I wish. Sure there might be laws and protocol, but they don’t matter that much when no one follows it.”
“They don’t just… obey your commands?”
“That would be so awesome if it worked. I could just command the ghosts to not attack people! But no, they have to go around fighting people, or trying to kill me, or feeding off human joy.” Danny rolled his eyes.
“Sounds more like monsters than ghosts.” Hazel noted.
“Yes, your definitions of ‘Ghost’ are a bit different.” Hades responded. “Daniel”
“Don’t call me Daniel.”
“-actually fights something more similar to physical manifestations of primordials. It’s a bit complicated.” Hades explained.
“Dang. You must be pretty powerful then.” Nico stated with a bit of awe.
“Sure, I guess. But you kinda have to be when dozens of ghosts keep trying to attack you. Your dad is one of the only ones who doesn’t bother.”
“His realm interconnects kingdoms of the dead, thus I qualify for ghost citizenship.” Hades said.
“Do I qualify for ghost citizenship?” Nico asked. “Shoot, will I need to pay ghost taxes?”
“You can be tax exempt because I say so.” Danny informed Nico.
“Wonderful that you give tax exemption to my son but not me.” Hades grumbled.
“You’re a god of wealth, you can pay taxes.”
“Maybe I’ll use my son to commit tax fraud.” Hades contemplated.
“Dude.” Danny’s eyes flared an acidic green. “Don’t talk about tax evasion in front of the tax enforcers. That’s tax evasion 101. Thats like keying a policeman’s car. It’s stupid.”
“Don’t threaten me, boy.” Hades sneered. The ground began to shake.
“Or what? Wanna go up against the ghost who beat Pariah Dark?” The temperature dropped to a chill. Nico could see his own breath.
“Child, you have no idea what you’re up against. I have power beyond what you can fathom.”
“So did Undergrowth, and I showed him who was boss.”
“Speaking of wealth” Nico interrupted, “they’re opening preorders for the Mythomagic video game, and you technically abandoned me in a hotel for years, meaning you owe me like eighty birthday presents.”
Danny glared. Hades sighed, and handed over his credit card.
“Get out of my sight.” Hades commanded.
Nico grabbed Hazel and Danny’s hands and shadow traveled away.
Back on the surface, Nico stumbled to the ground.
“You really shouldn’t antagonize the gods like that.” Hazel suggested to Danny.
“I could’ve taken him.” Danny shrugged.
“Hazel” Nico groaned from the floor. “I want my laptop, but I don’t want to stand. Grab it for me?”
“You’re lucky you’re my brother.” She retrieved Nico’s gaming laptop.
“Shh, I’ve only played Candyland all day. I’m ready for some real games.”
“You got Doomed on there?” Danny asked.
Nico grinned, excited to have finally found a fellow gamer.
DP headcannon where instead of Danny knowing all dead languages he gains a teeny tiny amount of the language of somebody who’s died. Like if a Latin person died guess what Danny knows a few Latin words now. And this stuff stacks so if a (very terrible) event happens he could potentially learn entire languages with slang, accent, sayings- the whole package.
Anyways he’s trying to explain to Superman that he’s not kryptonion.
This, but having a lot of info downloaded into his brain kinda overrides some of his language skills.
Aka: Danny can no longer understand or speak in modern slang. Give him ancient Latin, he can read it. Old timey English where people used those extra letters (I personally mourn the loss of thorne, and believe that letter should be put back in the alphabet, we can get rid of the letter C in exchange.) and Danny can thrive like no other.
Maybe it also gives him historical knowledge, but in really weird ways. It’s instinctual and full of stuff like trivia facts, and general vibes. Danny has both a lot of respect, and a lot of hatred towards famous historical figures like Alexander the Great, or Attila the Hun. (There are two sides to the wars after all.)
Mr. Lancer is very frustrated, because all of the sudden Danny’s spelling is a lot worse. Danny struggles with typing on a computer now as well. It’s to the point where Lancer would worry about brain damage, except Danny is also better at some things now too.
The class was reading Shakespeare, and where most students would struggle a bit with the language, Danny understood things faster and easier.
They were going over Richard III, and Danny hardly needed charts to understand the ancestry. He didn’t stumble at all, just understood on some intrinsic level.
Danny’s science teacher is very confused, and very concerned. Danny keeps trying to bring up humorology. Jazz was talking with him about psychology, and Danny ended up bringing up defunct points about phrenology.
It isn’t all bad. Danny has a lot of knowledge now on things like raising horses, farming, and various mythologies. It isn’t easy for school- he kept getting Greek Myths confused with itself. He knows some stuff from history books is just wrong, that it writes war in cold facts and not the bloody and heartbreaking tragedy that it should be.
For Danny, it can be confusing at times. Almost every fact he knows, his brain labels as wrong. He sees more sides to conflicts than most people, and can’t pick a side without a wave of contradiction. He ends up seeking help from Clockwork, who has awareness of multiple timestreams.
Clockwork gives Danny guidance on how to deal with conflating facts, how to stay in the right moment, how to use his knowledge to his advantage. With help from the Ancients, Danny understands how to balance conflicting feelings. It’s by far Danny’s most difficult power to adapt to, but he grows stronger for it.
Danny ends up solidifying in his protective beliefs. Every person deserves rights and protection, everyone deserves compassion.
Danny is wary of the Justice league. He’s aware of the many people that commit injustice in the name of the law. He knows how people justify horrible acts under the guise of the greater good. How people will let things slide until it’s far too late.
Danny starts perusing his own Justice- the Justice for his people. Lives that lead with no affection, those who do great harm with little benefits, the paragons of true evil- Danny drags them into the realms and holds their souls on trial.
The Justice league is immediately aware and concerned. People have been going missing. Lots of supervillains like Joker or Lex Luthor, but also a few random people.
Only after Batman digs further into the disappearances does he recognize the pattern. Every missing person is some sort of criminal- and usually the worst kind. Stuff that makes Superman pale, makes Wonder Woman shake in fury when Batman goes over it with them in a debrief.
Superman almost wants to just let it continue. Every single person the entity went after was somewhere on the darker end of the villain spectrum. It’s good that they’re gone.
Batman worries. Even if Zatanna and Constantine assured them the kidnapped people were most likely dead, Batman worries that they still might be out there, planning some horrible deed. He’s alert, waiting for Joker to pop out again.
He also disapproves of the entity taking Justice into their own hands like that. Where is the line before the entity grows displeased with every single crime, and kills for anything it disapproves of?
He doesn’t know enough to not be wary.
Wonder Woman has always had faith in the gods. Who is Batman to stand in the way of divine justice? If this death god kills those irredeemable, maybe it’s for the best that they did so.
…do you think caine found the human brain scans obsolete and abandoned just like he was, so he brought them to life and made the circus for them vowing to love them and treat them better than his creators ever did with him? and despite his best efforts he still ended up hurting them and that realization broke his heart? anyway i'm going to walk into the ocean
op your tags are good too im not letting you hide them away
#been musing on the idea of caine being “bratty” and i think it's quite the opposite. he's actually hyper-responsible#canon!caine never had the luxury to be bratty. he was parentified from day one.#he was the one keeping everything functional. he took care of everyone (however terrible he was at it). he handled every crisis.#he may be a goof on the surface but he always took his responsibility seriously and was never just playing around.#...kinda makes caine a lot like ragatha huh.#fawning to survive. feeling responsible for everyone around them. not wanting to turn out like their creators/mother.#i swear i'm normal about them. yeah.

Movie about a depressed and rather morbid autistic man planning to commit suicide and picking up a number of odd jobs in an effort to raise enough money to meticulously plan and prepay for his funeral so his mother doesn’t have to worry about it after he is gone. He begins to connect with people and enjoy life for the first time while working part time as a greeter in the funeral home, helping an eccentric old lady organize her basement, walking 7 dogs and maintaining a feral cat colony for a guy with a broken foot, playing a number of bit parts in local ads and stocking the shelves at the convenience store at night. In the end, he has befriended many of his neighbors and he decides he does not want to die and goes back to school to become a funeral director instead.
He is popular at his funeral home gig because he keeps accidentally saying things that are very reassuring and death positive. Because he wants to die. He eventually donates his funeral fund to the old lady’s granddaughter after her sudden death so she does not have to sell her grandmother’s prized possessions to pay for her funeral.
The old lady gifts him one of her ceramic cats at the beginning of the film which he reluctantly accepts out of politeness. Near the end of the film, he adopts a friendly cat from the cat colony that looks remarkably like the ceramic cat and names it after her, signaling his commitment to surviving and caring for his cat the way the old woman lived for her ceramic collection.
tony's chocolonely mildly pisses me off every time i eat it. like yeah i get it ur doing a whole symbolism thing about unfairness and whatever, but its actually SO DIFFICULT to eat fucking. gerrymandered chocolate. your symbolism is ruining my chocolate experience.
like. ur already more expensive. i understand this. i am willing to pay more money to have slave-free delicious chocolate. why must you punish me further by making it a goddamn puzzle to break a piece off.
Tony's Chocolonely does not ensure a living wage for cocoa workers in West Africa (see 2020 report by Voice Network).
Food Empowerment Project maintains an updated list of chocolate brands they recommend based on the following standards:
transparency about the country of origin for cocoa
if sourced from Western Africa, the workers must own the companies/be in charge of the profits from their labor (this standard is because child labor and slavery have been widely documented for decades in this area)
if sourced from Brazil, the workers must own the company and/or be in charge of the profits from their labor, or the company must be going above and beyond to support the workers and their families (this standard is because "child labor and slavery only recently have been documented in cocoa in Brazil" and they are "giving Brazilian companies that are trying to address the issue by supporting the workers and their families the benefit of the doubt.")
this isn't perfect, obviously, but it is much more grounded in the rights of workers than the various certifications (e.g. Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, etc.) you'll see on product packaging
I think it should be noted that the Food Empowerment Project specifically only lists companies making "at least one vegan chocolate product" and that they only ask about the companies' vegan chocolates specifically. Their list is not an exhaustive resource for every type of chocolate.
[Source: "Understanding Our Chocolate List" from their website]
Before I found that link I was curious as to why I didn't see any Norwegian manufacturers on their list(which makes sense now, as their chocolates are almost exclusively milk chocolate) and looked up where our companies source their chocolate from and found Nidar gets theirs from the Rainforest Alliance and Freia from Cocoa Life, both of which have been under scrutiny for not preventing child labour and not paying farmers a living wage among other things. So it appears Norwegian chocolate is out of the ethical picture.
I stated this in the comments of the post already, but it’d probably be better to add it as a reblog, so it’s more visible and doesn’t need to be restated by anyone else in the future.
So, Tony’s allied with Barry Callebut to get its cocoa. Barry Callebut is one of the biggest chocolate companies in the world, and it is unethical, obviously. This led to Tony’s revealing in February 2022 that 1701 child laborers were in their supply chain. Barry Callebut had over 21K at the time. Both of those numbers have risen, and Tony’s has outright admitted they don’t give a fuck about child labor laws when asked about it, content to let children to continue farming their cocoa instead of actually doing the activism they claim to do. (business-humanrights.org, feb 6 2022)
About a week ago, Tony’s joined Barry, Nestle and Ferrero in pushing against the reinstatement of important EUDR deforestation legislations. Under that regulation that they pushed against, they would’ve had to be more transparent about their supply chains for their more key ingredients - So Tony’s is lobbying against the exact thing they claim to stand for. (confectioneryproduction.com, mar 18, 2026)
Won’t restate @closet-keys’s addition, of course. That’d just be redundant and maybe annoying since, yknow, it’s already been said.
If you wanna find a better chocolate brand it’s really damn easy. There’s lists on slavefreechocolate.org of both the ethical and unethical companies. Both lists can be found here:
Below is a list of chocolate companies that only use ethically grown cocoa. Find out how you can tell if the chocolate you are ea
And it doesn’t have the vegan product restriction the other list has, which solves @aloofraven’s issue.
Very Silly Concept: a show called "Accessibility Nightmares" but it's structured exactly like Kitchen Nightmares. An accessibility specialist goes to different establishments and helps them make their businesses more accessible.
The accessibility specialist asks why the door at the top of the small set of stairs has a wheelchair symbol on it. The owner replies that's the accessible bathroom. The camera zooms in on the specialist as they process this information.
A customer with a service dog comes in to a restaurant. The hostess tells them they don't allow dogs. The accessibly specialist looks over at the hostess like
And there are web accessibility episodes too. The accessibility specialist stares at the white text on the light pink background of the home page like
The specialist asks why not a single product picture has alt text, and the business owner says "Well I mean, it's makeup, why would a blind person be shopping for makeup?" The specialist just
The specialist asks the web designer how a screen reader user is supposed to complete the captcha portion of the password reset process when there is no audio alternative. The designer admits they don't know.
I’ve been sitting on these panels for a while. Really love the idea that Danny’s ghost form gets further and further from humanity whenever he transforms. He’d definitely hide it from anyone close to him which would be easier as time goes on and the less he looks like himself 😈
if he'd shown them from the start they would've just gotten used to the changes, now they have no concept of the middle ground, and he looks like a completely different person

he wasn’t even there to be a contestant he joined the crew as a CHINESE TEACHER but the directors noticed his good looks and begged him to compete. poor guy made it to the finals and if he had been one of the winners he would have been contractually forced to be in a boy band whether he wanted to or not
