Psst you! Hey- yes, you speaking to that leftist white European who you think is super cool and progressive. Ask them their opinion on Romani people. Just do it. You have to. Yes, I know they're an lgbtqia+ ally or queer themself, they're an intersectional feminist, they're anti fascist, they might even identify as a commie, yet their anti-racism draws the line at Romani people, huh? Interesting.
LIVIA JÁRÓKA // POLITICIAN
“She is a Hungarian politician. She is a Member of the European Parliament, first elected as part of the Fidesz list in 2004. Járóka is the second Romani (and the first Romani woman) ever elected to the European Parliament (after Juan de Dios Ramírez Heredia from Spain, who served from 1986 to 1999).”
Timeline advice for writing Romani people in the ultimate decades challenge:
The Rom didn't arrive in Europe until the late 1300s. We didn't reach France or England until the mid 1400s.
We were enslaved in Wallachia, Transylvania, and Moldavia pretty much from the time we got there until the 1880s (in Transylvania and Moldavia). This was chattel enslavement (where people were livestock), and is the longest continuous period of chattel enslavement in the history of the world. Spain also enslaved us as did France and England, long before the colonization of Africa and the Americas.
Not all of us were slaves, but we were still persecuted and genocided. The anti-Egyptian laws by King Henry 8th and an active actual genocide in Spain in the 1500s, are examples that you can look up.
We were sent as slaves to the American Colonies as well, particularly the Spanish, Portuguese and some French and English Colonies.
The history of circuses is very intertwined with romani history.
These are some reasons on why I'm personally uncomfortable with gadze making romani side characters or npcs in the UDCs. But I'm only one person and can't tell you what you do. I just ask you to do research before thinking to include Rromani in your stories.
Don't worry everyone. If you forgot about the socially embedded racism that Romani peoples just steal shit and that's cultural for us, then I am (dis)pleased to report that apparently that's alive and well and needs to be shot behind the shed like ol' Yeller because this shit is old and needs to die.

I’m not going to reveal who sent us this, but just know that your second paragraph is very, very odd.
The Romani people do not want a “state” in our “homeland”. We do not have a single “homeland” and most of us consider our birth/resident country or mother earth to be our home, wherever we are.
According to the current historical consensus, we fled north India over 1000 years ago and have a distinct culture of our own. Indians do not see us as the same nor do we consider them Roma and for many of us the distinction is visual as well as cultural. We have been constantly oppressed by nationalist policies and ethnic supremacy.
I and my family especially do not believe in borders or states, for me this is central to my culture as a Romani person. We are a people, not a landmass.
Thank you for the kind wishes, but in regard to that last part: Do not say this to me. Do not say this to any Romani person.
It's kind of a serious post, but im doing the international baccalaureate, yes for myself but also for the women and young girls who had the misfortune of being born into very traditional Romani families. I'm doing this for my ancestors who didn't have the chance, too. I am forever grateful my Grandad broke that tradition that women stay at home, raise the kids, clean, have to obey their husbands, etc. He desperately wanted my family to have the education him and his siblings didn't have access to. Times have changed, and culture should evolve, not be erased but modernised. Women are equal to men and have the same right to an education.
If you’re anti-Armenian then actually kna koonvir
Same goes for if you’re anti-romani
Go fuck yourselves you propagandized assholes
Vive l’Armenia Vive l’Artsakh Vive la Romani
and if you’re still defending the tadc va’s, STAY. OUT.
Hate how antiromaism is so normalized on this site and the world at large.

i find it very frustrating that nobody wants to call out the racist portrayal of russian romani people in john wick. any search for information about real ruska roma is overrun with fan content about the films, i can only find information about their actual culture and history if i search in russian.
they have a rich culture and history, and a beautiful language of their own. but according to the internet, they're just a fictional underground crime syndicate that trafficks and tortures kids into becoming professional criminals.

would u rather fight a possessed furby or a EVIL LABUBU!!!
I have thought long and hard about this one.
see with a furby they don’t really have limps, just tiny little feet that, depending on the version, you could probably cut off with ease.
with a labubu tho it’s different, they can run AND grab with their little hands. Labubu’s also have teeth as well, so they can bite you.
I think I would feel most confident fighting a furby
I need to get back on the grind and learn to draw it’s tiring only seeing my darlings behind my eyelids
