I was going to answer you but I got distracted by something and forgot

My inbox fucked up and ate the message

I have nothing else interesting to say

I suck at socialising and don't know how to reply

I get a lot of messages and it takes a while to get through them

NOT REASONS I DIDN'T REPLY TO YOU:

Michelle wasn’t really all that surprised when Peter tries to hold her hand in public. She makes a face, rolling her eyes as she looks down at his hand for a moment, as if debating this in her head. It has been four months, she reminds herself, but still. It’s not that she’s personally against it, or anything, and it’s not like she doesn’t want people to know her and Peter are - well, together. “I’m not going to be weird about it,” MJ says back, defensive. Although he has a point, she won’t admit it to him. Then again, she doesn’t really know why she’s over thinking holding her boyfriend’s hand in public. “Alright, then,” she says in defeat, holding out her own hand for him to take.

peter jumped up, exasperated. ❝ i stick to walls, mj! what if you held my hand and you couldn’t take it back ‘cause it was stuck? then we’ll just be standing there trying to pry our hands apart! ❞

    biology had been going for AT LEAST ten minutes and jessica was lucky that the teacher had the students work amongst themselves for the first half of class. she slipped in the back door and claimed the first open seat that she could find- one right next to peter parker. placing her backpack on the table, the raven-haired girl was finally able to take a breath and examined herself. A DAMN MESS. she was a straight mess. hair was half curled, her outfit the same that was worn yesterday. at least she had long sleeves that covered the bruises and scratches from the fight before.

    eyes look over to her neighbor and she offers a half-smile.   “ please tell me that i didn’t miss a lot, peter. i really can’t take any bad news today. ”

—— he was barely awake. tony had dragged him away for a week of international crime-fighting avengers business which — even if he WAS excited about — had exhausted him. may was worrying over his wellbeing (such a good woman) and his teachers were trying to catch him out. but he felt his immunity from possible suspension: mr. stark had backed him up with an explanatory note.

peter’s head shot up from the comfortable resting place he had made from his arms, smiling — it looked like a grimace but it was just a very tired smile — looking around the room through squinted eyes like a newborn cub.

“ Peter? Hi,” Gwen said offering him a wave and a bright smile. The tension in her shoulders eased as she realized that she was actually going to know somebody at her new school.  Not only did she know Peter Parker, but they had once been the best of friends. They had spent as much time as possible together until after middle school and her parents had sent her off to a private girls school. In the year and a half, she had been at a different school than her best friend they had fallen out of touch.

She took in the sight of the boy. She made a mental note of how good he looked in comparison to the sick kid she remembered or at least she hoped he wasn’t still sick. She had known how hard that had been on him both physically and mentally. Kids could be cruel after all and it only tended to get worse with age.

“It’s  really nice to see a familiar face. I just transferred to Midtown,” she explained as she briefly looked around the crowded hall. She was fairly certain that Midtown was going to be a good fit for her from all that she had heard about the school.

—— peter offered a sheepish, welcoming smile. behind him he could feel ned lean, his friend’s eyes posted on the sweet blonde standing before both of them. but really, all peter could focus on was her — as had been his reaction to gwen stacy for YEARS. there had always been something very magnetic about her and peter from the past (and now) always wished he had that sort of magnetism. or maybe it wasn’t really important; gwen said hello whether he made an ass of himself or not in front of her.

❝ y-yeah? you—are you liking it so far? i mean… it’s very science-focused, but we have spanish and history and… it’s pretty typical. ❞

“Peter!” MJ called jogging up toward him. She stood in front of him, stopping him from moving away from her, she wasn’t one for being desperate but she definitely felt it. She had an application come up with a modelling agency, yet she had no photos to show them for her portfolio. “Hey.. Are you any good at photography? I know it’s a random question, but a modelling agency came up and I need a portfolio”

—— the truth of peter’s ❝ photography skills ❞ was that aunt may had taught him how to use her film camera from the 80s. he’d fucked up so many times trying to work out how to put the film in, the exposure to light ruined it and once again he was forced to take on a pizza delivery job to buy a digital one. yeah, his digital cost nearly a grand, but at least he can take more than a roll of 36 frames. another thing he noticed was his own alter-ego was getting more attention than peter was (at peter’s own neediness because he really didn’t want to keep delivering pizza).
