Physical Appearance –––

Hair: Teo-Linh’s hair is bright white and brushes against his shoulders and upper back. He often chooses to style it in braids with various interesting headpieces.  

Eyes: An unnaturally bright purple. 

Height: 5′7”

Weight:  165 lbs.

Build: Short and lithe, appearing graceful like a dancer.

Distinguishing Marks: While Teo-Linh once sported many ornate tattoos across the length of his body, his recent transformation also brought about the side effect of their removal. Now the only defining feature he possesses is carefully applied face paint. Though, one assumes that the Viis’s story will begin anew and he will acquire physical manifestations of them.  

Fashion: Teo-Linh drifts towards attire commonly seen in the Raktika Greatwood. Both in Slitherbough and among the Viis of Fannow. He tends to prefer clothing that is less “masculine” often choosing loose and flowing garments that, in some places, would be seen as decidedly feminine. His clothing if often made of leather and fur or features feathers or teeth. As mentioned above, he makes use of everything he can. Head pieces also make frequent appearances. It’s unclear if he simply enjoys them or if they play some part in his beliefs. He also seems to be quite fond of jewelry and wears a fair amount of it.

Profession: Apothecary, Healer, and Hedge Witch.

Hobbies: Reading, Researching, tending his many plants, hunting, writing, experimenting with various mixtures, tea.

Languages: Common. Ronkan. Though his Ronkan is academic at best. He certainly couldn’t hold a conversation in it, but could likely translate passages and he certainly uses it to cast.  

Residence: A small hut in the Raktika Greatwood that is not too terribly far from Slitherbough, but is off the beaten path and certainly not close enough to be considered part of the settlement.

Religion: Teo seems to worship the Ronkan Gods, or what he has been able to learn of them in his various studies.

Fears: Sineaters, losing his story, being forgotten.

Nicknames: Some call him Teo while others call him Linh. If he has other nicknames, he is not aware of them.

Personality: Teo is a bit eccentric. Living on his own in the middle of the Greatwood has lead him to do things that others might find strange. It has also lead him to develop his own traditions and ways of communicating. He tends to talk to plants, speak with an almost poetic lilt, and seems overly interested in the life stories of others. If people can get past the strange and sometimes awkward exterior, they will find that Teo is a lonely man who wants nothing more than to be a part of something. To be remembered. To be wanted, cared about, and loved.   

Recreational Substances: Unlikely. He may be able to be coaxed into trying new substances that have hallucinogenic properties to determine if there is perhaps another use for them, but he’s not one for recreational use of drugs or alcohol.

Favorite Foods: Stewed and dried meats, fresh bread, nuts and seeds, various fresh berries.

RP Hooks –––

Outlander – Teo-Linh is from the First and has lived his entire life in the Rak’tika Greatwood. Perhaps your character is a traveler who has come upon him in the woods, or is one of the Night’s Blessed, or a Viis of Fannow? If your character has spent any time in the Greatwood it is possible they have crossed paths.

Need a Healer? – Not only is Teo an Apothecary and Alchemist with great skill in tinctures and potions for all sorts of ailments, he is also quite skilled is magical healing and will happily offer his services to those in need. Don’t have money to pay? No need, Teo very rarely asks for monetary compensation. That said, he may request something else in trade.

Hedge Witch – While quite skilled with healing and elemental magics, Teo also dabbles in hedge magic. Perhaps would like a tincture of protection? A poultice to ward off ill fortunes? Or perhaps you’d like your tea leaves read? Teo would be happy to oblige.

Ronkan Ruins – His research of the Ronkan empire, specifically their religious and magical practices has lead Teo into as many Ronkan Ruins as he could sneak into. If your character also found themselves diving the depths of a lost empire, they may have come across a wandering Mystel.

Anything! - I am pretty sure we can come up with all kinds of reasons for our characters to interact. Just shoot me a message and we’ll talk through it! I am open to just about anything. 

About Me –––

I’m 34, married, with two fuzzy cats and one very hyperactive dog. I have been RPing in some capacity for twenty years. Wow… that makes me feel old. MMO RP is relatively new to me. I joined the RP community if FFXIV in 2017 and haven’t looked back. I am also an avid fan of tabletop RPGs and LARP. I am all about some RP.

I am a big bundle of anxiety. It is much easier for me to interact with people online, but I still find myself dealing with nerves from time to time. This makes large RP events difficult and I usually won’t go without a buddy.

I prefer to RP in-game, but will also RP on Discord if we can’t manage to line things up in-game. Tumblr RP has been difficult for me to keep up with in the past. So, while I will consider it, it’ll take some convincing.

I am not looking for an FC, but would certainly be interested in both IC and OOC Linkshells as well as RP oriented Discord servers.  

I like getting to know my RP partners OOC. This isn’t a requirement or anything, I just enjoy Discord chit chat. 

I really do try my best to be approachable to everyone and I’d love to talk to you, even if we can’t come up with interactions or plots for our characters.

Timezone: CST.  I am generally available for RP most nights of the week after 7 PM. I’m a night owl. So, I’ll probably be around as late as 3 AM. I am available earlier on weekends. I have a lot of free time and can make most things work provided I have time to plan for it.

The Viis moves to perch on the edge of the pool table, facing the small gathering of friends and acquaintances. “It is not mine own story that I bring before you, but rather one told to me by my Ahmah.” He crosses his legs in front of him and rests his hands gently on his knees. “I remember the scent of sandalwood and ash as if it were only yesterday when she sat before the hearth and gifted it to me.” A strand of white hair dips into his eyes and he bows his head. “And it is a similar way that I gift it to you. So that you may share in keeping her memory alive.” When his head raises there is a darkness to his vivid purple eyes. “There is a beast that stalks the banks of Tusi Mek’ta. Whether he is drawn to the waters by birth or by bondage, no one knows. Many believe him a descendant of the Fuath. The blue of his skin lends credence to their claims, but the horns that sprout from the top of his head and the wings that unfurl, tattered, and feathered, from his back only bring about more questions. Is he cursed? Corrupted by the light? Touched by a world not our own? No one knows. Not those who tell the stories around their fires nor those who have called him forth from the depths seeking succor, aid, or to merely satiate their own curiosity.” The lights in the room seem to dim and flicker almost like firelight. The shadows appear to dance towards Teo as he speaks. Is he doing that? “It was aid my Ahmah sought. She had heard the tales herself. Stories of how the beast might grant wishes to those of both pure heart and motive. And so, she packed her things and made the pilgrimage, bringing gifts of tea, poultices, and tinctures. Anything she could think of that might foster enough good will for him to grant her what she wanted most.” He finally brushes the stray bit of hair from his face. “For she and her husband had been mated for some time and still found themselves without a child. She had prayed to every god both old and new. She had used every herb and every spell she could learn or concoct. All to no avail. Their home remained silent and the cradle empty.” “When she arrived, she arranged her offerings all in a neat row at the edge of the lake, just close enough that the water might lick at them, but not soak them through. To give him a taste of what it was she offered.” He remains still, hands on his knees. “Moments bled into one another until a near bell had passed. Perhaps the tales were false. The songs she had heard sung of him were nothing flights of fancy, invented to scare and entertain.” Teo begins to hum a sad little tune. His voice is breathy and his pitch wobbles. He does not sing well, but that he will do anything the story requires. The shadows continue to reach for him, coming closer and closer as he reaches crescendo. “She sang them through, letting her voice rise and swell for it was not as if there were any around to hear her. Or so she believed.” The shadows snapped back to their rightful places suddenly. It was jarring enough to give anyone a little spook. “Until a second voice joined hers. An eerie harmony to her melody sung through a mouth of razor-sharp teeth.” “He sat, perched among the leaves of a nearby tree, water dripping from his iridescent black feathers. Why had she called upon him? What demands did she wish to make?” Teo shook his head. “She had no demands. Only hope. Hope for a new life. On that he did not seem willing to give her.”

“These gifts were not enough, he said. For he, too, could mix moss with herb and stone. He did not want for what the land already gave him. What did she have that he did not?” Teo flips his left hand over on his knee and with a hastily muttered word in an unknown tongue purple flames consume his fingertips. “She showed him the fire that danced in her heart and the wind that brought forth her dreams. The water that soothed all pain and the stone that made each step sure. She offered each on unto him and he took them all in turn, leaving her with only her hope, her tinctures, and the promise now shimmering upon both his skin and hers. The physical manifestation of a bargain well struck. She would have her heart’s desire. She only need go home and wait for it.” The fire in Teo’s palm is suddenly snuffed out. “And home she went, bubbly and bright and awaiting what it was that she wanted most in the world.” “Bells turned into days and days turned into months. She and her loved aged. Wrinkles set into her brow. Her hope began to wane.” Sadness seeps into his eyes. “When the sineaters claimed her mate as they had so many, she knew it to be lost. She was alone. No love. No hope. No magic. There would be nothing for her in this life. She had nothing left to give to the beast and nothing to show for her sacrifice.” “It was a moon or maybe two after she lost him, that mine own mother arrived on her doorstep…” His voice his thick with sadness, but he continues. “She was unwell. Her condition had taken quite a toll. My Ahmah did everything that remained in her power to heal her. To give her the chance at the life and the hope that had been denied so many.” The Viis sucks in a deep breath before continuing. “Alas, there was nothing to be done. Even with her magic, the outcome would have been the same. A fact I grew up knowing, but she could never be convinced of.”
