BIOGRAPHY

You grew up knowing you could do anything. Others grew up in families where the expectations proved suffocating, but not you. Not at first. You thrived under the attention they gave you and the freedom to do whatever you liked. Doors opened for you without effort, and people treated you with a deference reserved for royalty. Sure, you had to smile politely every time your council parent attended a ceremony, and you prepared yourself for the role you’d soon takeover for them, but its not a hardship for all you gain. You don’t feel the weight of it until the first time someone tries to kill you. The attack left its mark, and the golden world you once relished now seems darker.  The weave is a bane on your life. Everywhere you go, people whisper about the weave. You find it superstitious nonsense for the longest time, denying its existence. You’re vocal in your disbelief and you’re one of the few people who feels few of the catastrophes the weave has wrought. But your luck doesn’t last forever. You’re home alone when the weave strikes that last time in winter; you can think of no explanation for the howling screams echoing through your house until the magic wanes. Maybe someday, you’ll have the courage to investigate it.

CONNECTIONS

Dusk: You're grateful they saved your life, but at the same time, you understood your last bodyguard a lot more. Now, you're learning a new person and you aren't certain how much you like them. You see there's a hunger in them to prove themselves, and you worry how someone will twist it against you. Radiance: The two of you were once thick as thieves, challenging authority hand-in-hand. When they begin to spiral, however, you know your friendship can't continue. Reputation matters far too much in Mercy. You pulled away from them some years ago, and now you can only watch on the peripheral as their life falls apart.

BIOGRAPHY

Your upbringing taught you to scream if you wanted people to listen. You were the child people forgot otherwise. Well, hard to forget you if you are making enough noise to rattle the heavens. You were born last to parents who hadn't wanted another child and you were well-prepared to make that everyone else's problem. While parents handed your siblings everything on a silver platter, you learned to scramble for everything you needed. Others might consider this a sob story, but not you. You believe it made you a fighter. Mercy wasn't your final destination. You traveled more often than not, finding solace in the open road. Your arrival in Mercy coincides with the last Spring weave which sent your car spluttering into a ditch when magic struck. Few people believe your claim about your cars malfunction, and you spent your first night in town also in jail. It’s an unfortunate introduction to Mercy. In an effort to uncover the strangeness of your arrival and await your cars repairs, you've elected to stay in Mercy for a time. Someday, the town may appreciate your blunt honesty.

CONNECTIONS

Lore: They found you when you crashed into the ditch, but adamantly refused to believe your explanation. Maybe that's why your relationship with them is a little sour. Hard to befriend someone who doubts your every word. Unfortunately, you owe them for saving your ass. Shiver: You met them in the midst of a brawl on the street. Neither of you were participants so much as unlucky bystanders. Luckily for them, you defended yourself and them by extension. Unluckily, nobody quite saw who started it, so you shared a jail cell for the night.

Magic doesn't exist in your world anymore. Your people drowned it out with your pride long ago. Now, look at you, cowering in a town called Mercy without any idea of what’s coming. When magic returns and weaves its way into your life, ask yourself a question: do you really think it'll be on your side?
