Festival Style Survival Kit
Those of us who have been to some of New Zealand's top festivals will know that majority of the time night turns into morning, friends turn into family and the pounding bass projected from the speakers turns into our heart beat. Â Thereâs no experience like dancing outside under the open sky, singing along with friends and sharing the same happiness with thousands of other people surrounding you.Â
Weâre getting to that time of year where some of New Zealandâs major festivals are about to kick start as the year comes to an end and a new one begins. Next in line is Rhythm and Vines with an awesome line up to  sign off 2016 and start off 2017. Mixing great music with a great sense of style will give you the ultimate festival experience but that experience could get a whole lot better if you won tickets to get you there. Wearit have tied up with RnV to giveaway some passes to the festival, stay tuned to see how you could be part of this experience and win your way there. Â
Weâve got you sorted on how to come up with the ultimate style survival kit for the festival, Â if youâve got any questions jump onto the app to ask one of our stylists for advice.
Hats:Â At any given time, there are always a bunch of guys who love rocking hats during summer. Most guys will result in wearing a cap but if youâre thinking a little outside the usual look then give a Fedora or a wide brim hat a go, these days they come in stylish patterns and colours. Â Hats are a simplistic way to add a point of difference to an outfit without any hassle and they make a good identifier in a crowd if anyones trying to look for you.
Sunglasses:Â Your best bet is to not take a long your most expensive pair, chances are youâll probably lose them or damage them. Head down to the local Hallensteins or Cotton on store and grab a pair or two from their wide range of sunglasses to get you through. Theyâll be perfect for the festival environment and they also look awesome but best part is that if you lose them you wonât feel so bad. Â Try out the retro reflector shades or the circular frames, a little bit different but very neat.
Clothing: Pattern on pattern, floral on floral, Denim on Denim, you name it you can probably pull it off at these events. Remember to go with colours  and patterns, black is boring and it also contracts heat. Stepping outside of the box isnât a bad thing if you want to make a statement with your outfit.  Thereâs a lot of matching shirts and shorts going on in the local retailers. If youâre one to wear the more simpler pieces then go for plain tees or quoted tops paired with cotton or denim shorts. Remember think light weight when packing, in this weather you donât want to wear anything thatâs too heavy in material. If youâre worried about getting cold in the evenings then consider a denim jacket, itâs a good go to for all outfits. One jacket that does all will be handy instead of packing multiple items, donât forget to consider packing a lightweight raincoat you never know with NZ weather what itâs going to be like.
Accessories:Â Some guys over kill with the accessories, letâs just narrow it down to 5 pieces. They can be from a range of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings etc. Leather, Silver or Wood accessories are a good option for that retro cool look that have a slightly vintage worn finish to them. Â Most casual guys clothing stores will have a section with accessories in them, otherwise when in doubt ask.
Shoes: One word, Comfy! The worse feeling is trying to break into shoes or wearing uncomfortable ones while youâre on your feet the whole time. My advice is take a pair of your old converse chucks, Jandals or grab some cheapies so you can wear them to death and ditch them later. High tops, low cuts, mesh material sneakers etc, the local retailers have them all stocked for affordable prices. Â
-Donât carry anything valuable with you when youâre heading out to the gig
-Put your phone in your front pocket so it doesnât disappear from your back pocket without you noticing
-Slip, slop and slap on day long sunblock because lets face it youâre not going to reapply it throughout the day and off-course have an awesome time.
-Speaking of awesome time Wearit have 2 x Double passes with camping to giveaway for Rhythm and Vines read more...
