When Matty stepped foot into the building he was taken aback by it all. He’d never seen anything quite like it and it made him realize that he probably didn’t belong. Adjusting the bowtie that Sunny had insisted he wear for the occasion, Matty leaned against the balustrade, eyes scanning the party goers as they milled around. Nudging the person next to him he nodded at the door. “Wanna step outside with me for a minute? I could use some air. It’s like really hot.”
understandably, as a merperson lyra had to revisit the water regularly to stay in peak condition. usually they could stay away about a week, with two weeks pushing the limit and usually an open invitation for getting sick, but certain factors brought that time period down drastically, one being temperature. it’d been four days since their last shift, but it was hot in the room and lyra- dare they say it- was close to sweating, so when an offer came to ditch the near steaming room, lyra pounced on it. “yes, yes,” they agreed. “a hundred times yes. on the topic of outside, do you know if there’s a, i don’t know, pond or literally any body of water nearby?”
