This photo has such a unique story behind it. At least to me. After a night out of clubbing and heavy drinking, my friends and I ended up crashing at this guy’s house. He left us to sleep in his office, but we decided to pull an all-nighter instead. We snuck out to a gas station to get some food and shortly after, we noticed that the sky was this piercing red colour. During the summer in Norway, the sun rises between 3 and 4 am. We ran towards a lake so we could get a better view of it but we definitely did not expect this. Mist was hovering over it and the water was so still it produced a perfect reflection of the land and all the beautiful colours.
It made me sad to think that this moment would eventually pass. It was like I was jealous of myself for getting to experience it. Life was definitely on our side that morning; we found a towel someone had left on the dock. The three of us went skinny dipping as the sky transitioned from red to a beautiful spectrum of colours, before finally turning blue. I won’t even try to explain how surreal that moment was and how truly happy I felt in full sobriety, as neither words nor this photo will do it justice. I’m just glad I got out of the water at one point to take this. While most of the town was asleep, I got to experience such a beautiful hour with such beautiful people.
