I was wondering why Wei looked at Bolin like this (I mean even Bolin seem confused) but then it hit me… this is the next time he sees Bolin after being confronted by Kuvira. After being mad at him for joining Kuvira.

Wei has probably heard about how ruthless Kuvira is and knows no one should betray her. Yet here Bolin is, after supporting her and trying to convince them of all the good she’s done, helping them escape from the very woman he supported. It doesn’t matter why he turned on Kuvira, what matters is that he did and that he’s here now, breaking them out. Wei knows Bolin’s life could be at risk for even being there, for even holding him, but here he is - smiling at the fact that they’re okay.

This look, this little pat, it’s as if Wei was quietly saying,
