Too Soon, Too Fast

I deleted my OkCupid account back in mid-May, shortly after my second-to-latest post.

Mainly because the ... man ... I was supposed to go on a date with (who apparently tore his stomach lining from vomiting; which, according to Dr. Friend, is VERY difficult to do), was doing The Thing.

What’s The Thing?

Promise me the moon, the stars, everything that will make me weak in the knees, and then get incredibly possessive, creepy, and demanding.

I’ve been down that road before, most memorably with a guy I briefly dated when I was in high school. There have been other guys who worked their damnedest to isolate me.

I managed to extract myself (this time) before he and I could have our rescheduled first date. I’m done with dating websites. I’m no longer reeling in fear and nausea, but I’m still freaked out. I may talk about this more in the future, but the whole experience has been locked in a mental box for the time being, mainly for my own sanity.
