Warner Fulton

Hi, so I’m v sorry but Emily has a thing for Warner!!  And she’s kinda naive so she sort of conflates a casual crush (which is probs closer to where she is atm) w ONE TRUE LOVE and she’s convinced that he’s the only one for her!!  But she’s also actually pr laid back in a lot of ways and she’s like ROMANCE NEEDS TO TAKE ITS COURSE!!!! but that being said she’s also eager to ~be in love!~ so she isn’t above sort of manipulating events a little like…she’ll trip so he has to help her up and…things like that that ~she thinks are super romantic but that in fairness probs just make him think she’s a spazz laskjdfalkjsdf (which…tbh…if he thinks that he’s probs not wrong alkjdsflkjdsf)  Anyway, she is 100% a hot mess but I s2g she means well!!  

anyway, idk how he would approach that subject b/c he does nOT want to lead her on but he also would like to be her friend annnnd he’d also like to tell her that he is into someone else w/o breaking her heart!!! And he’s not really sure how to do those things so I can see where he blows kind of hot and cold w/ her??? Speaking of with, do you think Emily has any idea Warner likes Alice??? I don’t think it is super obvious unless you know Warner really well, but I can also see where it is the word on the street amongst Warner’s friends, etc??? Basically, I feel like emily is more likely to find that out from someone else bUT then it would definitely be v obvious if she ever saw them together!! Anyway, I’m cool for her knowing or not knowing whichever you think would be best! 

WARNER IS LITERALLY REM’S FAV PERSON IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE <333333 but that has never onCe stopped him from making fun of him or eating Warner’s leftovers if Rem’s hungry #sorrynotsorry  But he alsO defends him and helps him make the things he wants happen!!!!!!  I also feel like they also balance each other out v well - to quote batb ‘[Warner’s] so well read and [Rem]’s so…athletically inclined’ ;DDDDD but in this case, Rem ~does read and isn’t a raging asshole and they actually get along v well ;DDDDD

I re-read my bio and I have in there that Warner was bullied in school a lot until Rem would come to the rescue and yeah basically Rem has been his hero from day #1 I think <333

Friday nights at Sullivan’s were what Eloise worked for. At 5:30, she’d shut down her computer, walk over to the production warehouse to meet some combination of Lia, Kevin, Mel, and Jimmy, and head to the bar. It wasn’t necessarily the need to drink, as Lou usually nursed a beer for a few hours before switching to club soda, but the comrodery with her co-workers and anyone else from this charming little town who cared to socialize that night.

She and Mel had been sitting at the bar for most of the evening until recently when Jimmy had appeared and talked Mel into a game of pool. Lou, who despite trying not to work on Friday nights, had just finished answering an e-mail that she’d been waiting for since 2 and had only recently been delivered. Planning to join her friends at the pool table, she slid off the bar stool and nearly knocked over a wobbly Warner Fulton.

“You’ve been stood up?” she repeated, hoping she’d heard him correctly. She was a little confused why he’d bring his older brother to the bar if he was going on a date, but no judgement came from her. She had been on a blind date earlier that week with three pencils stuck in her hair she’d forgotten about.

“I can’t believe someone would stand you up,” Eloise said kindly, grabbing onto his arm to steady him as he teetered a bit. “Clearly, it’s her lost. Let’s get you some water,” Eloise said, leaning onto the bar to try to get Ruby’s attention. That alone would take awhile.

“That ... came out wrong,” Warner said, laughing. He tried to steady himself but all he wanted to do was laugh. He was a happy drunk, typically, and the alcohol was making everything seem funnier than when he was sober. “I ... wasn’t really ... I mean, it wasn’t like a date date, or anything ... honestly, it wasn’t even a date ... singular ... If I’m being honest. Definitely, more of a maybe I’ll see you there, maybe, dealio. Does that make sense?” 

“Hey. You are a girl.” He said. He meant to ask her something after that observation, but he wasn’t sure what, exactly. Some kind of dating advice, he supposed, but he hadn’t gotten further than putting together that she was a girl and he was sort of trying to get a girl but he didn’t seem to be able to actually form a question. His thoughts felt like a half finished puzzle that had several missing pieces (which made him laugh again.)

“Er... “ 

I’M YELLING COS HANNAH & WARNER & CONNOR & LYDIA NEED TO HAVE A BOOK CLUB????? 

hannah: the first rule of book club is you do not talk about book club *while in public, not whispering, actually stage whispering so e/o can hear her* (she only joined book club in high school b/c the drama club couldn’t handle her theatrics) (hannah: the irony?????)

anyway lmao what i’m tryna say is that i can totally see these 2 being friends!!! if we make them friends from before as opposed to new friends i imagine hannah’s always overwhelming warner w her friendship lmaoo. inviting him to things all the time only to have him politely decline and then hannah drags his ass out anyways lol. i mean look at them!!!! vvv

but I actually love the idea of them having been friends for awhile now????? he is five years older than her which is kind of a big gap when u are kids, but I can also see where maybe this book club has been going on for a long time???? and maybe that’s how they met??? i DO think that warner was so super overwhelmed by hannah at the start and was def like “omg stop asking me to do things i don’t want to!!!!” but then 1 day was just like “ok if i go maybe she will stop asking after she sees how boring i am” but then they just had fun and he was like “this isn’t horrible????” 

PRETENDING TO FORGET SOMETHING SO HE CAN TURN AROUND AND NOT TALK TO HER ALDJFKLJASDKLF  No, but that makes total sense!!!  And I actually think Mel would really like Warner!!!  I mean, she def takes an interest in ppl in general and she’s also got a ton of siblings at home and so she’s used to and actively enjoys all sorts of personalities!!!!  And I also feel like Warner would be good for her, as well, in terms of expanding her horizons and introducing her to new things.  Plus, they could totally bond over the awesome shows like vn and aoa and odr they watch ;D  Not to mention, I can see Mel being an occasional customer at Fulton’s bc she wants to do some of the outdoor stuff or at least try it hahaha  

Anyway, my general point is…I think she would def be v friendly and try and draw him out, etc.  Also, Mel isn’t from Bingley, but she’s been here before and I think was here for a good while, the last time she was here, so this probs isn’t their first time meeting, tho it’s possibly been awhile atp.  (I think she left town after things ended between her and Oliver but idk the exact circumstances of things since we don’t have an Oliver hahaha)

okay, so it’s a little hard to figure this out ~exactly~ since we don’t have an Oliver bUT the younger Warner is, the more quiet/awkward/intimidated of Mel he would be haha. um so I’m thinking maybe the first time she came to town, she tried to be friendly towards warner but he was just like NO. DO NOT WANT. ABORT. and like he probably tried to be friendly back but he’s just such an awkward turtle that he ended up being a horrible conversationalist with her haha and would just avoid her. not that he didn’t like her, he just wouldn’t know how to interact with her, if that makes sense??? like she’d just be so overwhelming haha. 

dksljfakjdsklfjklDJK;DJSF ommmmggggggg ok but them being weird friends in another life gives ME life I like picturing Milo dragging Warner places and getting into totally ridiculous situations and then it’s often up to Warner to get them out dlskfjklsjdf bc he’s the reasonable one and Milo…is noT.  Although…as I’m thinking about it…do you think that happened a few times and that’s how Warner and Gen first got involved???  Or maybe that just happened while Warner and Gen were together and like they had grudging “moments” like that and then Milo was like ‘ok but admit that was the most fun you’ve ever had like *puts his arm around Gen’s shoulders* we’re amazing to be around’ and then two weeks later goes back to complaining #facepalm  Honestly, if so, he was def still freaked out that things were changing, but I can even potentially see where Milo was just starting to get used to him (and therefore cotton to him) when they broke up.  

Hahahaha no!!! he does not!!!  He’s like ‘that person’s not right for you,’ ‘he’s not good enough,’ ‘that guy has…a weird…tooth and i don’t like it and it’s not right for you,’ etc. hahaha and if they weren’t friendly first this is def how it went hahaha (tho there would’ve been elements of it regardless bc Gen dating no thanks)  Also, he probs complained all the time about how Warner was a stick in the mud and she could be going on adventures w Milo rather than whatever boring thing Warner wants to do basically.

Either way, when they broke up, he went full Milo and was like ANYONE WHO WOULD BREAK UP W GINNY IS A MONSTER and Gen’s like ‘we’re still friends and it was mutual’ and Milo was just like ?????????????? neutral feelings?????????  I don’t know how to do that?????????  So he probs just settled for shooting him the stink eye any time he saw him.

Hahahah yassss subtlety is NOT Milo’s strength hahahaha  Honestly, if he ran into Warner soon after meeting Alice, he probs like clapped him on the shoulder and, with the air of a wizened elder giving worldly life advice to a youth, said, “Warner, my friend, today I have met my future bride” bc he literally told EVERYone he ran into even strangers he met on the street #heLP  

ANYWAY, if Milo’s picked up on it, he’s pr dramatic about it bc…he’s Milo.  So Milo is confident that he will triumph bc obv he and Alice are gonna get married someday, but like Warner is the first challenge, the first hump in the road, and so Milo will be eager to meet that challenge and…it’ll get real weird.  Milo will be super competitive w Warner like ANYTHING YOU CAN DO I CAN DO BETTER and also he’ll want to be gracious in victory so he’ll like randomly invite Warner to hang w them all (himself and Gen and Alice) or other times just offer him advice or just chat??????  But he’ll also want to prove to Alice that he’s her #futurehusband and for everything to always be magical between them and yeah…basically it’ll be a meSS if Milo knows/suspects but Milo is a messy bitch who lives for the drama, in a lot of ways so that ought to surprise no one really ;DDDDDD

ok I guess we ought to figure out if they were friends first b/f he and gen dated??? b/c that sounds like it dictates how milo would have felt about warner to start with???????????? i’m honestly cool either way???? but regardless, i def feel like milo needs to have gotten warner into several strange and ridiculous situations that u can only have by hanging out with milo and warner is just like *bob belcher voice* omg. honestly, part of the reason he ended up breaking up with gen was b/c she was kinda exhausting haha and i feel like this def stems to milo as well ;DDD

hahah omg yeah honestly warner is kinda a stick in the mud, especially compared to gen/milo and he’d probably wanna have a quiet night in with tea and books haha and meanwhile they are like “let’s throw rocks at trains” (jk jk … altho now i feel like they’ve done that at least once when they were kids?? ;D)

ahhhh omg tho milo’s stink eye @ warner!!!! i feel like warner honestly doesn’t know what he did to deserve that???? b/c he and gen broke up and it was mutual it doesn’t cross his mind that that’s why??? and he feels like he did something else but he doesn’t know what??? and he’s too awkward to ask why so he just kinda avoids milo probs if he can

HELP MILO BEING DRAMATIC ABOUT WARNER BEING HIS ROMANTIC RIVAL!!!!! I … kinda …. need this????? especially since warner isn’t really being competitive at all since he doesn’t see it as a competition (and if it is one, he’s like “i’ve already lost that 1″) and like he can tell that alice likes milo better plus honestly even if milo wasn’t  an issue idk that he’d ever really work up the courage to ask her out and he wishes his feelings would just go away and he def wishes milo didn’t know about it haha

I feel like warner spends like 1000% of his free time at the bookstore/library? so he and connor definitely see each other all the time, haha. and I feel like they’ve probably known each other forever, since they both grew up here??? aLSO I’m obsessed with the idea of connor and warner wondering about BBE and probably also talking about how ODR is good but not as good as the books 

i foresee a moment at the local office supply store where it nearly comes down to a boxing match over who gets the last package of perfect pens available ;)

Warner!! is actually the guy Alice should want to date?? like he has his life together and has direction, which alice outwardly does but DEFINITeLY ACTUALLY DOESN’T and really needs someone who can help her through things? but in a way that directs her life forward!!! alas… milo. haha. I do think she’d want to be his friend but she might be a sort of terrible friend sometimes? she’s so focused on herself she’d be prone to blow him off half way through coffee or whatever if milo calls and says he has some adventure planned. so i apologize in advance for her being kind of the worse!!!

I feel like part of Warner knows that he needs to move on from Alice, but it isn’t that easy, you know? And some days, I think he’s like “yeah, it’s ok if she ends up with milo!” but then he’ll have a little ~moment~ with her or remember one from the past and the feels just hit him all over again and he realizes he’s still got feelings for her, haha. 

and he’s also the kind of friend who would never say anything about her leaving him to go hang out with some1 else, even if they had plans first. and honestly he would def be disappointed but he wouldn’t even see it as her being rude to him or anything, in fact he’d 1000% get it b/c he knows that if he was hanging out w/ someone else and alice called him, he’d be gone too
