Doc & I survived a pretty serious flash flood last week- it came out of nowhere & we barely made it out with our lives & our puppy’s life.

We had to flee instantly with only what we had on us and we lost most everything we own sadly. We returned to the campsite and found a good amount of our things but the loss was felt.

This picture was taken right by our washed away camp where the flood happened. He & I can get through anything together- we are just happy that we didn’t get hurt & we will bounce back!

FLASH FLOODS ARE NO JOKE

I thought I needed to share this- kinda funny on my opinion. (Yes- I know it may be considered tree abuse but hey, it is what it is.)

We got to our new campsite and didn’t have any storage figured out so I improvised.

Tool box? No.

Tool tree? Yes.

My hiking get up for the day-

Knife? Check.

Machete? Check.

Hatchet? Check.

Doc also had two knives and an ax on him as well.

We were hiking down a road by our old campsite and I saw this tree farm that just seemed to be a backdrop for Doc.

A Walmart brand hatchet called an ‘American Hickory’ that Doc’s mom gave him. He of course had to make it his own by sanding, shaping and burning the handle.
