Her sudden tears tore at him and he dragged in an unneeded breath. “Clary...!”, he said, but she had already turned away from him in a strangely fitting physical display of what had happened to their friendship ever since Jace had shown up in their life. He reached out for her, faster than humanly possible, but his hand stopped the moment his fingers touched her arm. “I’m sorry .. I ... this is all crazy.”
