Yesterday I was officially Diagnosed a Diabetic (type 2). I am not really sure how to feel right now. I know i did this to myself but it also doesnt seem real yet. Going to have to start making some changes in eating and my life style.

Keeping on Track
So Sunday I woke up not feeling the best. I decided Id run after my short shift at work but while I was at work I got a crazy migrane and when I got home i could barely function so I decided to take a rest day. No worries because after 7days of running a rest day was needed anyway.
I learned this weekend that the temp. Was going to spike this week so Iv been a bit nervous about how this was going to affect my running. So today after work given the insane humidity and heat ,my friend (who is currently pregnant) and I decided itd be in out best interest to go out for a long walk instead of running. So we walked a good long walk, sweating like crazy in the heat but still active. Hopefully tomorrow I can get back to atleast a mile in the heat but we shall see. I just want to keep eating well and stay active! Staying on track doesnt mean perfection with running but rather not falling back into laziness!

Day 7 8.25.18
Today was a lazy day.. i didnt want to so much of anything honestly.. but i did.. i forced myself up and into the heat to complete another 1.5 miles non stop! I really dreaded going out into the heat today to run but at the end of my run with .10 of a mile left my neighbor walking her dog yelled “your so ambitious”! It kinda made me laugh and i yelled back “Im training for a half marathon”... and in that moment I realized that come heat, cold, wind, rain i need to be out there pushing myself.
I’m finally gaining confidence in myself and my body’s abilities again.

Where did that come from?
So today was my day off from work and I was up early to take my mom to her appt this morning so I was a little anxious about how my day was going to go. Shockingly i stuck to my guns and ate normal (well what Iv been eating for the past week) and came home; napped the day away because hello I love sleep! When I woke up I thought hmm to run or not to run... RUN!
Haha yes so I decided that I would have a casual run today and not worry to much about time and map out a new route for my 1.5 mile runs. I thought okay ill run .75 of a mile one way, turn around and head back (still running) another .25 of that mile because I know I can run a mile atleast and then try to go a bit further and just get use to the 1.5 distance even if that means walking the rest of the way. Well holy canoli apparently my body/mind wants more because not only did I run a mile but i ran the entire 1.5 miles straight-non stop!!! I have no idea where that came from!! I think this route has less inclines and stuff but still Im so blown away only 6 days in and im running 1.5 miles again!!
Looking Forward.
So today I went out and ran my mile straight again! Felt even better today. Im tryin to be concious of my form because I really feel like my feet are barely leaving the ground when i should be kicking my feet up towards my butt behind me. I know this comes with time and honestly weightloss when my range of motion has improved but its something Im trying to be concious of. Also its about time I figure out how I want to do my 2 mile route. I want to improve on distance and then speed so its important to focus on what is ahead!
Finally a motivation video without fitness models, but with ordinary girls!

One mile!! 8.22.18
I did it!! 4 days in and im back to running a non stop mile!! So proud of myself!! Of course im sure I looked like I was barely moving to most but idc Im so proud! I cant wait to improve my distance and time! God how I’ve missed running!!

Just keep running
Today was day 3 of getting back into running. I ran .75 of a mile straight, walked, then ran the last .10 of the mile for a total of .85 run of that mile! Its awesome that im progressing so much in only 3 days back at it!
Today was a hard one.. it was one of those days that I came home and did not want to run. I was trying to convince myself that I needed a rest day or that maybe I’d go later and then another voice would agrue that “no, you know you wont” and “if you have a rest day already you know you’ll stop again”. Somehow that tiny voice won and I quickly changed and headed out my front door. I rushed so my mind didn’t have time to talk me out of it. And I’m so thankful I went!!
These arn’t long runs, or fast runs, but these small accomplishments lead to bigger things and I just have to keep running!
