“THE Riddle Fan”

He and Azul are fully biological brothers, but Cetus moved further north with their father after the divorce at 6-7 years old because their parents thought that if one of them had to go, it would be better for it to be their younger child. Since he has less memories and isn't as 'rooted' in the environment as the older one- if they had known Azul was getting bullied, they would have sent Azul away instead. They lose contact after like a year and basically forget about each other until Cetus arrives as a 1st year.

One of the last interactions they ever had before they were split was after Cetus was confronted at school by some older boys (Azul's bullies) with the intent of bullying him, too. He didn't really get it, specifically asking what was wrong with being 'Azul's/Octotwerp/etc's brother', and they got bored of him because he wasn't giving them the reaction they had hoped. Cetus would end up asking Azul in private what was wrong with that, and why they were saying such things about him, to which Azul freaked out and made him swear to never, ever tell their parents about it.

On the night of the ceremony, though, neither even remember each other. Azul kind of pretends like "Oh, remember me?" in a way to try and measure how much Cetus himself remembers. They're civil for like 1 night before intense paranoia grips Azul and he starts micromanaging and taking issue with EVERYTHING about Cetus.

Up to Book 3, Azul goes as far as to double-check Cetus' uniform before school, buttoning up his blazer to look exactly like his. He tried to gel Cetus' hair too but Cetus fought back on that one, so. During the stalking segment in B3, the group would watch Azul leave class and rush to the 1st year's classrooms to pick up Cetus where he roughly pulls and pushes him or keeps him away from speaking to other people. He's doing his all to prevent Cetus from spilling anything, or being ASKED anything because he doesn't trust him.

Cetus didn't have a club until a little before Book 4 or so, because Azul would drag him to shadow him at Board Games Club and basically have him sit to the side like Ortho does.

Because of their non-existent relationship, Cetus doesn't like him back very much either. He actually didn't have any dreams of being on land at all.

This ^ changes after Book 4, where Cetus really gets to see how much Azul has grown through watching Azul's plan come into fruition. He does a bit of a 180 on Azul and becomes a heavy glazer because of it 😭.

Overall their relationship with each other is a very turbulent one but they end up getting very close with time, hehe.

Actual Cetus-only facts:

Cetus was only on land for like... 3 months before coming to NRC. He's using a different service than the octatrio, which isn't a nonprofit. He knows much less than they do.

During Book 4, he's extremely annoying because he doesn't like Yuu and Grim over the contracts thing. He keeps asking Azul to leave at every turn, and Jamil ends up taking advantage of this and locks him up in the treasure room, citing "He must have gotten fed up with being ignored and gone back to Octavinelle on his own. You guys should go, too." and hypnotized Kalim probably forbids them from leaving again to go and check. This ends up working a bit in their favor because Cetus DOES NOT end up getting tossed into the desert like everyone else, and even ends up getting his UM to escape the treasure room, then used to take down Jamil.

He does hate Jamil though.

Cetus, compared to Azul, is very direct and clipped when he speaks. He has a staring problem when he's upset, but he does as told.

Floyd calls him 'Baby Whale' up to Book 7. When they tell Azul that Mostro has been closed, Floyd drops 'Poor Cetus was worried sick," as a tease towards Azul.

He and Azul aren't just supposed to look similar from behind, but he wears the scarf around his neck so that when you chop them both from the torso up (Like in the wiki), they both wear the same colors. They're both heavy on silver in palette up top.

RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS

— Riddle isn't stupid, far from it actually, he'd notice it if you seem upset or not in the mood at all.

— Frankly, even if you are always invited, he would have an eyebrow raise too if you don't even seem as enthusiastic when he gracefully and generously invites you to an unbirthday party. For some unreasonable explanation, your reaction lingers in his mind for the remaining time, too.

— But alas, Riddle is, rather unfortunately, not all emotionally intelligent. Of course he has become more emotionally aware in comparison to how he was at the beginning, yet he's still actively developing.

— He can see the signs, he isn't blind either. But how should he even approach? What is even the right approach? Clearly sucking it up and waiting for you to eventually seek him out is one out of many horrible decisions to make.

— So, if you won't approach him first, Riddle will do it subtly in his own way.

— Asking something simple like "are you doing alright? or perhaps even "do you require my assistance with anything?", if you shrug him off he'll just find another direction to approach.

— Maybe he'll even ask if you'd like to join him for a cup of tea, "just to wind down" in his own words. If you do have a favorite tea brew, Riddle will most likely have that be served, otherwise he will ultimately rely on brews that can help calming you down.

— Perhaps he'll also sneak in your favorite dessert if he ever feels prompted to.

— This does also mean he'll approach more directly. Riddle doesn't mean to be pushy, but seeing that you're actively staying silent on what you're dealing with is not something he will turn a blind eye on.

— Especially since you mean so much to him, too.

"If I may inquire, my rose, is something bothering you? I've noticed you seem rather upset, I do feel rather concerned."

— And if you do open up? You immediately gain Riddle's full attention through every word you utter.

— Whether it's being burned out from everything that has been going on, generally not doing well in classes, genuinely not feeling alright today to even feeling homesick, Riddle will try to give the most rational response he can offer.

— He can always tutor you in regards to not doing well in classes, nicely even! All you have to do is simply ask and he'd make time for you in his schedule immediately. This also does make him remind you that academics aren't necessarily everything, you can take do it in your own pace. Same thing goes for when you accept his tutoring offer.

— Riddle may, however, end up a bit stumped if you're just feeling upset today. Of course, he can tell you encouraging words, maybe even initiate affection with tinted cheeks, but that's all he can ultimately offer to even slightly make you feel better.

— He ends up being more stumped when it comes to you feeling homesick, rightful in all the ways, yet he doesn't exactly know what to do either. He can tell you that you have all the reasons to, remind you even that it's completely fine. But it's once again something he can't fully provide comfort in.

— Taking a break will always be something he insists upon, if you don't really take his word for it then he will have to practically nudge you towards sitting down and relaxing.

— Riddle will feel glad that you're feeling better, even if it's just by a tiny amount. More so on the fact he was able to provide you comfort.

— He will tell you directly that you can always come to him for anything, an ear will always provided by the queen himself, especially since he has earned the title as your boyfriend. What type of person would he be if he didn't bother trying to comfort you?

— Trust is always important, most certainly in a romantic relationship, and if you're willing to be vulnerable with him that's all he needs to know. ♡

REBEL RIDDLE

— Treats it lightheartedly at first, till he sees you're actually upset and won't seem to budge.

— I wouldn't necessarily call Riddle ignorant, rather he thought you just weren't necessarily in the mood for whatever you both were doing. Hence he just indulged and nudged you more into having fun.

— But seeing that you didn't become more enthusiastic or that your frown didn't change a single bit had him slowly growing less upbeat and more confused and concerned on how you're doing.

"Hm? Aren't you having fun, [Name]? What's that look for?"

— Right when you don't answer him immediately, he proceeds to poke around in hopes of getting an answer out of you, Riddle doesn't necessarily back down if you shrug him off unless you out right say he should cut it out, has him raising his hands in a defensive manner before bugging you to tell him what's wrong with his words instead.

— He'd listen to what's gotten you into a bad mood when you eventually caved in, earning a successful grin from his side first before he listens with a serious face while pondering on what to even say.

— School's bothering you? Well, not like he goes to school... He'll just say you should take it easy! Study a short amount of time and then hang out with him right after. Though, Riddle can't necessarily say much if you're stressed out over final exams, work hard and all but make sure to take breaks is his ultimatum.

— You we're already in a bad mood before you both even met up? Goodness, now it just calls for an activity you like to do! Surely that would lift your mood up, especially if it's a favorite activity you like to do. Riddle won't even comment on it much as long as he sees you're starting to feel better, otherwise he'll just attempt to lift your mood himself or just ask if you like to do anything else in your free time.

— If you're feeling just upset today and doing any of your favorite activities doesn't seem to work, Riddle may ponder again, just a tad really. He could take you out somewhere, maybe a shared favorite spot or anything! Minor cons are you don't feel like going out or that wherever you both may go ends up being too crowded. Already a mood buster.

— He does attempt to at least comfort you with his words, cliche really, but maybe you just need words of encouragement to at least feel a tiny bit better and validated.

— But Riddle doesn't just settle for cliche words here and there, only if you'd let him right now, he'd nicely and very generously just pepper your face with kisses.

— A few on both cheeks, maybe even on the tip of your nose, some on the forehead, he obviously won't exclude your lips either. It doesn't even matter if his lipstick decided to leave few faint marks on your skin with how softly he was kissing you, the goal to him was to either lift your mood up to some degree or to get you to giggle even a tiny bit.

— He does slowly call quits when he sees it at least did something, maybe even pinch your cheeks in a joking manner while asking if that's really all it took for you to feel better.

— Riddle still will attempt to somehow lift your mood up further, he can't have you be only halfway doing better when he's around.

— He can always sing you something! Maybe even purposefully off-key just to see more of a positive reaction out of you. Or you both can watch silly videos on the phone, too. Through magicam or whatever app just happens to stumble under his finger.

— Riddle will mostly just stay by your side for the rest of the day, even when the day is practically begging for him to go home and come back tomorrow, a sleepover wouldn't be so bad either just to make sure you're going to bed with a good mood.

— You wouldn't necessarily mind, right? You both can do all sorts of things late into the night for however long. Till either of you at least falls asleep at least.

"Honey, can't I just stay over? Come on, we can watch a movie too!! Let's make it be your favorite, alright?"
