Over the past few months I decided to take a break from traveling and shift my focus.. ⁣ **⁣ The past 2 years, I’ve been taking trips like once a month and that gets expensive. I’d come home with great pics and a credit card balance. The Glade Creek Grist Mill, a fully functional replica of the original Cooper’s Mill, is a new mill that was completed in 1976. Here’s to the trip that broke me! ⁣⁣ May 2018, I had this backpacking trip booked but was unable to find anyone to join me as my +1 cancelled a few months before hand.. It was my first time ever really backpacking, taking on that long of a hike, and even traveling solo! I thought about canceling the whole trip because i was scared.. ⁣⁣ Fortunately, I ended up going and it was the best decision of my life. Flew across the country with my gear and ended up hiking 40+ miles within the 3 days, 20mi while carrying my 50lb pack! (I was new to backpacking and I didn’t know what lightweight was😩) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In doing all this, it taught me that I can do anything I want! It changed the way I think and in the following months, ended up going on many more solo trips around the county! Never let fear control what do or don’t do.
