there's scans of the vocal/klavier score for the hungarian production, i'm not sure where i found them atp but you can check them here. it does look like smth from the times hungarian production was work in progress and has hungarian translation is written above german lyrics on these scans, and among other things it has original der einfache weg lyrics and while they're different to the ones that was used in the vienna revival they're not especially more ~like that~, so it seems like make it more gay was entirely hungarian initiative

I stopped denying I'm into musicals a good while ago bc it's got really bad (I've been going through periods where I couldn't listen to anything but the soundtrack of a specific musical. It's a special kind of hell).

And considering that I'm the most tone deaf person you'll ever meet, this has been an adjustment to say the least (my mum literally laughed at me in disbelief). I went from *I only like a couple of movie adaptations, they're the exception* to being able to name my favourite actors, watching bootlegs and live performances and daydreaming about going abroad to catch certain shows
