this is actually a really fantastic question that makes me very excited to delve into… everything that sora has got going on.

both her and arin are obviously extremely changed bc of what they went through, and they both have trauma from lloyd's death, their fights, and the universe ending. but there's just a sliight difference in how they reacted after.

in some ways, they feel the exact same. in other ways, they feel the exact opposite. both don't want ras's plans to succeed, don't want lloyd to die, ect. but sora's way about going about stopping these things is way more… personal. the best way to describe it is that arin watched the universe end, but sora watched arin end it. arin's goal is to stop the universe from being destroyed. sora's goal is to stop arin from destroying it.

with that in mind, sora will do anything to stop arin and get what she feels is justice. in the show, we see how passionate she is about liberating imperium -- imagine that but amped up to 100, riddled with guilt and morally grey actions, but instead of for a city it's for the entire universe and aimed at one person, arin. she lost a lot of herself in her attempts to kill him and in her time spent alone. she was grieving her entire timeline, lloyd, jordana, and her best friend. unlike arin, she didn't have the shattering to lean on to numb her. she feels things so deeply and is so distraught with pain and rage and deep, deep love that everything people do, everything that she does, is like a hand squeezing her heart. she's just waiting for the day that it pops.

to get closer to your question, sora's humanity is both what makes her so merciful and what makes her do horrific things. she wants to save everyone she has ever loved and she will twist the knife into arin's heart and wash off his blood over and over again until she can. she wants arin dead for killing her father and she keeps pictures of all 3 of them beside her bed and doesn't want anything bad to happen to the photos. she misses the love of her life (jordana) so badly so sora recreates a photac version of her so that sora can still see her face and she will spend hours crafting a version of her to have and yet never check in on the real one. she can stab arin while he cries and not have her hands shake anymore and also quietly daydream about them being 12 and accidentally falling asleep on the couch again. sora is so disconnected from those that she loves that she doesn't even always realize that she's even hurting them anymore -- when the ninja finally find her, when sora's perception of Z gets rattled and she realizes that maybe it's not actually arin who messed everything up ... she's so overcome with relief and anger that it makes her sick. um. i think this was a long ramble that maybe didn't even answer your question, but sora's humanity and morals are a finicky thing. she cares so deeply for those she loves and never wavers in it despite everything that's happened to her.... but also, she is grieving everyone in horrific ways and will throw anything moral out the window if arin is in front of her. it isn't until she's back with the others that she has more of a reality check lol. but yeah.

sora's the type of girl to forget to wash the blood off her hands when she sits down to eat dinner. to try and kill arin mercilessly and then cry when lloyd places a hand on her shoulder. she wants arin dead so badly and then he'll also be the first person she instinctively looks towards to make sure he's okay after something happens. she is constantly contradicting herself and oh boy is it a doozy when she has to confront it. (m-maybe arin ISN'T the cause of every horrific thing ever??? maybe he's a victim too?!??? crazy out of the world concepts like those)
