i want to talk to thoughtful people, but I don't want to talk to people who think that being thoughtful is an innate character strength that they possess and that other people lack. I want to talk to people who have made the decision to approach the world thoughtfully regardless of their level of personal knowledge on any given subject and who trust and accept that I have also made this decision and understand that we can assist each other in broadening our respective understanding of the world by communicating with each other.

my phone got picked up by an eagle a few weeks ago and all of my posts since then have been a beautiful golden eagle accidentally tapping the screen with her perfect talons. including this one

It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. As a child I knew my own anger was unacceptable--not just expressing it outwardly but feeling it at all. So now as an adult my immediate reaction to my own anger is often to feel guilt instead of like. Noticing when someone is being rude or unfair or my boundaries are being violated or whatever. fucked up.
