stray thought: i think making megs' strongest relationship in this series dot instead of optimus was a great move tbh. he feels connected to the series' unique ideas in a way a lot of the other g1 cast, and tbh especially optimus, don't. the megop dynamic is the easy route and an obvious one, but emphasizing his genuine bond to dot SO strongly gives him a stake in the focus of the show that i think OP actually lacks. and it's especially interesting bc megs seems to care about earth almost as much as cybertron/tfs actually, through his connection to dot. it's really interesting having a good guy megatron whose focal relationship is with a human, who seems bothered by the idea decepticons are making humans fear cybertronians. a megatron who genuinely connects with humans is really interesting as a concept, you can do so much with that.
