There’s something so interesting to me about how Smitten is so clearly a perfectionist in a way and has such high expectations for both himself and his romantic relationship as a whole but will also settle for something that’s not ideal as long as he can frame it as being something that’s in someway romantic. Like you see this if you betray Thorn or if you choose to stay with Damsel. It’s clearly not what he wanted or had planned but if he chooses to see it as romantic he’ll use that as a crutch for the situation to be fine.
