Allen and Tori were particularly talkative this morning as the three of them walked long the pier in the early morning light. They talked about all sorts of things but mostly the conference Allen would be going to later. Something about the discoveries with hisâŚtheir engineering projects. Victor wasnât paying too much attention however. He was too busy being cold as fuck despite wearing his hoodie and coat. He eventually interjected the conversation with a, âWhoseâŚwhose idea what it again? To come to the beachâŚto come to the beach in December?â
âYou wanted to miss out on this view?â Allen asked with a smile. He gestured towards the beachâs horizon. âYou donât get to see the nature quite like this at home! I mean the forest is fine and all, trust me I love it, but a change of scenery isnât always a bad thing, ya know.â
Tori made a small show of her taking in a deep breath. âPlus I just like the air out here. Salty.â
Miku straightened up at the sound of people approaching, an excited trill escaping her lips before she realized what she was doing. She was quick to cover her mouth afterwards, but it was still too late to take back the noise. Well, they probably wouldnât notice it with all the other noises out here... right?
If they did... well, as soon as she made it back into the ocean sheâd be fine.
She pressed her eye to a gap in the pier, watching the strangers walk overhead. They must be from the same pod, with how similar they all looked. How neat!
Her tail slapped against the sand as she moved to follow the humans, and if you looked at the gaps between the boards of the pier you might just see slender fingers poking through.
