for  those  unaware,  in  the  midst  of  the  poc  community feeling  as  if  they  had  their  safety  completely  disregarded  after  pocrppositivity  revealed  that  they  were  run  by  a  racist  white  mun,  finalpetal / emma  decided  to  tone  police  minorities  on  how  they  were  treating  white  people  rather  than  letting  them  be  angry.  she  also  acted  like  her  struggles  as  a  white  person  being  “attacked”  by  pocs  were  equal  to  the  racism  that  pocs  struggle  with  everyday.  then,  once  backlash  began  she  ignored  the  situation  saying  things  like  “I am   NOT  RACIST  I am a good person!”  and  “my good name  has  been  slandered.”  she  also  responded  with  “I work with international students”  as  if  that  means  she  can’t  be  racist  somehow.  she  also  only  replied  to  more  aggressive  or  negative  replies  rather  than  the  replies  that  were  constructive  from  pocs  as  a  way  to  victimize  herself.  in  order  to  apologize,  she  restated  that  she  is  a  good  person.  now,  she  writes  with  iuriis  (  who  rps  slavery  and  rape  )  and  surrounds  herself  with  people  who  have  also  been  exposed  as  racist  pieces  of  shit.  if  you  have  further  questions,  ask.

the  issue  with  kpop  and  jpop  groups  is  that,  while  it’s  good  that  we  have  any  representation  of  asians  as  attractive,  it  reaches  a  point  where  people  pretend  they  understand  korean  and  japanese  culture.  not  to  mention  the  fact  that  in  the  rpc,  no  other  type  of  asian  is  represented.  i  rarely  see  south  asian  or  southeast  asian  faceclaims  being  used  when  there  is  an  asian  muse.  and  you’re  right  about  the  white  person  thing.  it’s  usually  that  or  in  some  cases  east  asians  who  refuse  to  acknowledge  that  there  are  other  asian  people.  i  can  talk  about  this  for  hours  tbh.  thanks  for  venting. 

never  feel  like  you  have  to  hide  your  culture.  do  not  ever  think  that.  do  not  be  ashamed  of  your  culture.  it  might  be  easier  but  you  don’t  ever  have  to.  you  might  just  have  to  embrace  it  in  a  different  way.  you  can   introduce  them  to  your  culture.  i’m  so  sorry  they  do  that.  try  to  find  people  you  can  talk  about  your  culture  with.  you  can  do  it.  stay  strong. -mod chlena

the  voices  of  native  people  are  CONSTANTLY  ignored.  not  just  by  whites  but  by  other  people  of  colour.  it’s  also  important  to  note  that  native  people  are  not  all the  same.  i’m  really  sorry  you’ve  had  to  experience  this.  thank  you  so  much  for  sharing.  -mod chlena. 

while  i  agree,  we  want  to  keep  this  space  safe  for  pocs.  adding  drama  and  sending  attention  to  white  people  will  go  against  that.  however,  if  you  want,  you  can  message  any  of  us  mods  and  we  will probably  agree with  you.  -mod  chlena.

you are not obligated to speak up. while i do encourage it, the oppressed should not be required to speak up. it’s really scary because they’re so intolerant and you don’t know what they can do. you described the reasoning and culture and history behind your statement, and they still chose to act ignorantly. you did all you could do in that moment. i’m glad you’ve decided to be more outspoken! we’re always here for you if you need support. and also no problem. always here to help. 

lmaO!  the  dominican  republic  has  such  a long  history  of  immigration,  and  if  anyone  even  cared  to  google  it  they  would  know  that  most  dominicans  are  also  haitian  or  have  haitian heritage.  afro-latinxs  are  real  &  they’re  valid.  i  don’t  understand  why  people  (especially white  people)  try  to  police  other  people’s  heritage  without  knowing  anything  about  it.  thank  you  for  sharing  your  frustrations!  keep rocking. 

white people never realize that there are parts of traditions and customs. while it might be “gross” ( what you described wasn’t gross even by western standards by the way ), it’s also part of your culture. they’ll always make fun of you until they want to adopt that trend. once they adopt that trend, they’ll pretend they created it. stay strong. also this isn’t your responsibility, but always speak up for your culture. hawaiian culture is so often ignored, as are other pacific island cultures. thank you for sharing and venting. stay safe. we’re always here if you need to talk more. 

first of all,  i’m s o  sorry.  racist  family  members  make  you feel even w rose  than  racist  strangers.  you  are  strong  for  not  letting  it  penetrate  your  own  thoughts  about  yourself.  i’m  also  sorry  that  someone  entered  a  safe  space  for  pocs  and  ruined  it  for  you.  i’m so  sorry  you’ve  been  boxed  into  specific  stereotypes.  you  and  hawaiian  culture  is  so  much  more  than  what  we  see in  our  media. ( not to  mention  that  not  every  hawaiian  person  is  tied  to  the  culture  ).  you  are  so  strong  for  advocating  for  yourself  &  speaking  up.  stay  safe,  friend  !
