Hey y’all! I’m teaching a class again!

If you don’t know me, I was the animation director on Castlevania, the animation supervisor on The Owl House, and a visual development animator on Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse

While people usually only know me as an animator, over half of my work in the industry has actually been in storyboards. This year I wanted to teach a class about what I’ve learned, and how to get the most out of your storyboards in a TV production.

If you’re a beginner storyboard artist, someone who’s hoping to work in the industry, or a professional looking to learn some new tricks, this one is for you!

My compositor and I stayed up late one night developing this line treatment as an experiment.

While we never ended up making this, we did end up using the treatment on the Hyper Light Breaker trailer.

I don't post on tumblr much anymore, so if you don't know me, I was the animation director for the first seasons of Castlevania and The Owl House, the visdev animator for Across the Spider-verse, and the one who drew that Zagreus hair flip thing.

This time I'll be teaching draftsmanship for animation. If you're looking for ways to improve your drawing for animation, storyboarding, or really anything that requires speed and consistency, this is the one for you. I'll be sharing my own approach for drawing characters, as well as tips and tricks that are common in the animation industry.

This time I'll be teaching a workshop on special FX. They let me pick the topic this time, so I'm not saying it's gonna be a better workshop, but that's also exactly what I'm saying. FX are something I'm passionate about and have a lot more experience teaching.
