He left behind his children and wife, and my brother Ahmed, whose front leg was amputated in the same bombing. I lost my house, my family's house, and my job. Now we have become homeless, moving from one place to another. We are gripped by fear, terror, and hunger. My daughter suffers from extreme fear and panic, and suffers from lack of food and skin diseases due to the lack of water and cleanliness.

I’m husband and father of two children we evacuated at the beginning of the war. but my family is still suffering inside Gaza

My family was a beautiful, cheerful family that loved life and they love each other.

We have children are make fun and they the source of happiness for home

Until one day, the sounds of explosions overtook them. Days passed, and these days were very difficult for everyone in the family. Suddenly, my father fell ill, and it was determined that he was suffering with cancer, and needed surgery outside the Gaza Strip. But, because of the situation, he was unable to leave Gaza for treatment — eventually, due to lack of medical care and after suffering with his symptoms, he died. Five days after my father death, his children (my brothers- and sisters) were injured after their home was targeted. My brother suffered a double amputation of his feet and one hand, and his other siblings were injured as well, including a severe back injury.

hi everyone, i'll try to keep this short. today (September 26) was a horrifying and bloody day in Jabalia. there had been 3 family homes that were bombed in early morning, resulting in at least 4 martyrs and 5 injured. this is consistent with iof's recent escalation in Jabalia and surrounding neighborhoods, specifically targeting families with children.

just three hours ago, there were missiles launched at a school in Jabalia, and now at least 15 are killed, mostly women and children who are sheltering there. Civil Defense reports dozens of injured too, many in critical condition. in the past 8 days, iof has bombed 4 schools in North Gaza, specifically bombing children.

this is the eighth day since the iof announced its plans to begin strategizing for a North Gaza siege that would close off the entire region from the rest of Palestine. Hazem's parents (vetted #281) have decided that they needed to protect their children by leaving Jabalia as soon as possible. please help them in securing necessary supplies for daily survival and relocating immediately. this is a matter of life and death.

Iyad and his wife are both elderly. Iyad has diabetes which makes his feet swell and he hasn't been able to get his medicine for it in almost a MONTH. Because of his swelling, Iyad can't move well and now that his tent is flooded, he can't even rest.

Iyad has several small children aged 5, 7, 10, 13, and 14 years old. They are now without shelter where it's cold and wet. And with terrible diseases spreading throughout Gaza, this will only put them more at risk.

Ruba was discharged from the hospital just a few days ago due to a serious injury she got while being displaced. She lost a lot of blood and although she has been discharged, she still needs medicine for it. Now she also needs medicine to treat her and the rest of her family's flu.

5 days since israel defense minister announced reallocation of most of iof troops (including tanks and missiles) up north. 5 days of nonstop carpet bombing of neighborhoods in North Gaza, specifically around Jabalia. 3 schools full of children targeted.

today, netanyahu was quoted by israeli press that there will be a military siege in North Gaza, that there will be a short period where civilians will be allowed to evacuate. this is extremely concerning when taking into account that iof has bombed and opened fire at civilian and aid vehicles indiscriminately with no repercussions. time is of the essence for families to escape before iof closes in

my friend Hazem (vetted #281) has 5 younger siblings and parents that he is currently providing for, trapped in Jabalia camp for the past 11.5 months. evacuating to South Gaza means getting a transport vehicle, buying fuel, buying food, and abandoning tents and other cumbersome supplies not immediately needed for survival. fuel and food are both extremely expensive because of their scarcity in North Gaza. please help the family get funds to escape before the siege is into effect

causing a breakout of infections amongst Siraj’s sons, and putting the rest of their cousins at risk 

since right now all of Siraj’s extended relatives ( 23 family members)  are currently living with him after being displaced in an IOF attack

I have talked about this and more. I have talked about how every day Siraj has to take risks and go to Deir al-Balah just to get a steady hotspot connection so that he may campaign for his fundraiser and how after all this he gets harassed online because he is a journalist who gives us his daily updates. Beyond this I do not know what else to say to you so that you may donate to Siraj and help him cross this last lap of his fundraiser.

Recently Siraj posted an update about the  massacre at al-Mawasi camp and it hits you hard when you realize that this camp is just 2 km away from Siraj’s own. Everyday when he sends me a message, I breathe a sigh of relief because after all these months- from our first tentative hellos to now when we crack jokes after a machine translated chat goes wrong, there is always a fear that maybe this might just be our last interaction. I know these thoughts have nothing to do with the fundraiser in itself, but my point is, as a  friend, Siraj has requested that I help him reach 82k and right now this is all I can do to help him. So please donate even if it is $3 USD ( $5 CAD). The fundraiser has trickled to almost a crawl and this makes Siraj worry. At least the gfm reaching its goal would be one less burden on him. He has fought so hard for this, please do not let him down now.

but now this symbolism has been stripped of its original context to create a vague aesthetic of "yay incest/cannibalism/dogs/vampirism." it's fair and accurate to say "vampirism often represents sexuality in some form" or "dogs are typically associated with masculinity in literature." however, discourse has become "vampirism and dogs always mean x, and it's always or only interesting when it represents x." this is like saying "aliens in film always represent or are most meaningful when they represent colonialism (ignoring such films as alien, annihilation, or a quiet place)" when a more accurate statement would be "aliens in film often represent colonialism in specific works (such as war of the worlds or arrival) and this is interesting to me."
