Can You Keep A Secret?

If I quietly fade away

Slip beneath the waves

I wonder if anyone would notice

Even if I’ve been gone for days

They say life has a purpose

People tell me it gets better

But it’s not easy being lost in the dark

And feeling like I genuinely don’t matter

My lips move though no dialogue comes out

There’s no point in talking when I’m not being heard

I often think I might as well be invisible because

Life taught me love isn’t the only four-letter word

It’s sad how it takes someone famous to die all of a sudden

Or for a dramatic event to happen to shock people to care

In those moments they’ll post about mental health awareness

While in reality they won’t miss me until I’m no longer there

In life not everybody gets to live or to feel alive

The only promise is I’ll be gone someday  

So don’t mind me as I disappear between the cracks
