Why did the Pope’s Chambers have to be so damn far away from the Scorpio Temple? It wasn’t tbat Zaphiri didn’t like walking, but just climbing up endless flights of stair upwards and then downwards could become real boring, really quick. Not to mention that at that hour it looked like the whole Sanctuary was dead, silence lingering arpund like thick coat- Eerie and umpleasing, where the hell where the crickets?! Those tiny insects were a curse to hear, but in that moment the Scorpio would’ve rather had that than nothing.

As he was grumbling to himself, going down the stairs after what had felt like the longest mission briefing ever, Zaphiri hadn’t even noticed that Krest had crossed paths with him, the Aquarius walking in the opposite direction, probably to reach his own temple. The Scorpio turned his head to half-glare at the Saint (he didn’t even greet him, the uptight bastard), but as he did so, he couldn’t help but noticed that the other wasn’t wearing the usual long-ish coat and- Had he always had such a nice backside?

He was about to straighten his position and leave, all too eager to take off the Cloth and see if the tumbling had left any visible bruises on his skin- The Scorpio had felt some parts of the armour digging inside of him as he rolled down the stairs. However, before Zaphiri could exactly move away, he was grabbed none too gently by the shorter Saint and efficently stunned not only by the kiss in itself, but rather by Krest’s iron grip on him- As if he was worried (perhaps that was not the right word) about him leaving.

The Scorpio mentally snorted: why the hell would he ever want to leave? That was just another reason to stay, if anything- Who knew the guy had it in him to do something quite like that? It was a pleasing surprise no douby, a little speck of heaven that was dusted off before the younger Saint even had the time to place his hands anywhere- The cold bit him as if Krest had closed his teeth on his tongue, making Zaphiri wince at first and then let out a muffled, but alarmed sound and he almost shoved the other Saint away.

Was that how it felt to lick pure ice? His tongue dangled out of his mouth in quite the ridiculous manner and it felt like the appendage was burning and hurt all over. “Wha’ ‘d ‘uck?!” Zaphiri carefully touched his own tongue with his index, wincing again: the old bastard! And if he wasn’t imagining things, even his lips felt terribly…Chapped. Like after staying out in the cold for days at end.

“A couple of warm drinks would probably soothe that frostbite, you have nothing to worry about.” He said nonetheless, with his smirk crooking a bit.

Krest turned his head, meeting Zaphiri’s gaze from upclose with his own showing clearly how displeased he felt. “You are obscene and filthy, and your presence disgusts me beyond measure.” Krest desired to smudge that grin with his hand for such an incovenient remark, but he wouldn’t. Well, perhaps he could at least freeze Zaphiri’s tongue to teach him a lesson.

To do that, however, Krest opted for a rather peculiar, but interesting way. Well, he didn’t find it interesting, but the result would probably be more pleasing done like this than through another way.

If Zaphiri thought he’d leave on top and with the last word, he was seriously mistaken. Krest took advantage of the proximity and turned on his heels before leaning in, claiming Zaphiri’s lips with his own whilst his fingers held the other’s nape in place so he wouldn’t pull away. He deepened the kiss by slipping his tongue in, accumulating his frosty cosmos around the area of his mouth, controlling it with his breath. He made it slow and convincing enough.

It didn’t last that long, but enough for Krest to feel the texture of Zaphiri’s lips. Not that bad of a kisser, he was, but it didn’t matter. When he broke the kiss, he wiped his own lips with his fingers, releasing Zaphiri’s neck. “In all those 500 years, that might be my masterpiece.”

Until, that is, Zaphiri made his whole presence acknowledged by falling down the staircase, causing the stairsteps to tremble a bit and making a loud ‘thud’ when he at last got still, spread above the end of the stairs. Krest only arched an eyebrow at the sight, ceasing his steps before Zaphiri’s fallen body. He folded his arms before his chest.

“Yeah, shut my mouth, I’d like to see how you plan on doin’ that, freaky cold medium-heighted guy.” His brain wasn’t working properly (afterall, that wasn’t exactly a common situation to be stuck in) and while his threat might have not sounded as good as it did in his head, Zaphiri was satisfied with it nonetheless. When Krest actually leaned closer, the Scorpio glared even harder than before, as if that was gonna help him free himself from the clutches of a suddenly power-hungry 5 centuries old Saint. Go figure what life was doing. “No need to ask me twice, your royal shortness.”

Respect was not exactly a word that often appeared in Zaphiri’s vocaboulary and right in that moment, it was most certainly non-existent, as he grabbed the arm that was keeping him down only to stab it with the scorpion’s sting, holding the Aquarius tight. “Might gonna feel a little bit hot in a moment.”

So the Scorpio did have some guts, huh. Nothing really incredibly surprising, Krest thought, since he expected Zaphiri to do as his words had challenged him to.

The area which he had been hit did burn - and hurt more than he thought judging it had been a single hit -, but in fact it was nothing his own gelid cosmos wouldn’t soothe in a matter of seconds. Nonetheless, it made him flinch at first and the brief scowl which he faced Zaphiri with was genuine. “You’re indeed an insolent brat.”

“Like hell I am going to stop talkin’! Did you hit your head or something? What’s with the sudden power-lusting spree, here?” Zaphiri was a ‘critical’ man, there were plenty of things he did not like in life and Krest was doing them one after another, as if he wished to purposefully grate on his nerves. Telling him what to do? No. Pushing him around? Absolutely not. Pretending to treat him like an idiot? Forget it. Even thinking to be above him? HELL NO.

“You should start with removing your hand from my shoulder before I rip it off.”

“Frankly, Zaphiri, should I shut your mouth myself?” Krest wasn’t the type of person who’d rely on power play in order to gain anything, but regarding the Scorpio the idea didn’t honestly sound that bad.
