List of things I do know about R.ichard ! (mine at least!)
King of England, Duke of Normandy, Aquitaine and Gascony. Lord of Cyprus, Count of Poitiers, Anjou, Maine and Nantes. Overlord of Brittany. (Greed they talk about in the bible)
Military trained (he's more of a warrior king)
Intense (not called lionheart for nothing)
Considers himself a ๐๐๐๐ก โ loves music
Loves his mom (was her fav son too, also likely bc of a prophecy 'The eagle of the broken covenant shall rejoice in her third (Richard was the third son) nesting.')
Would have sold England for a corn chip ('I would sell London itself if only I could find a rich enough buyer.')
Adventurous (would sell everything to fund his travels)
(As a plus to the last point) Awful with money but competent as a warrior and general
Likely did not know how to speak English
Influenced by stories of knighthood and chivalry, courtly love and the troubadour culture of France
Wanted and captured! will be released for 150,000 marks! (lit) (which was apparently aprox twice the annual income for the english crown at that time)
Following last point, they had to do a whole campaign to rescue him, painting him in a good light to get people to want their king back which is likely one of the reasons why we have so many positive accounts of him
Had beef with his brother John bc he betrayed him, but eventually richard forgave him, yay brotherhood
Loooooooves tales of chivalry and romance despite him oftentimes failing to uphold traits of chivalry
Would eat an entire rotisserie chicken on tik tak live
His hair does that ghibli thing where it spikes up if u startle him
Very passionate and friendly, playful !
Cannot sleep at reasonable night times (he's going to be playing the lute at 4am bc he's that connected to the world of the arts tm)
Man Myth and MLegend (the big 3' ms)
Totally did meet Robin Hood, absolutely, trust him on this
Nearly bankrupted his kingdom (twice)
It's said he knighted his cook one day bc he was in a really good mood (i cant find any sources for this, but i'll take it as a thing since this is all fictional)
Following his accession to the crown of England, he likely spent a total of only six months there, he did not touch it with a STICK. 6 months out of like 10 years of reign is crazy but ok
Died from a crossbow wound. Curious bc robin hood's weapon in fgo is not a bow but a crossbow, its curious bc oftentimes in robin hood tales, he's depicted as being on richard's side (richard being the 'rightful king) against his brother John ('the greedy and tyranical king')
Had no legitimate heirs which is very odd for a king (though he did have one (1) illegitimate son)
