Soooo imagine you and two other guys get shunned away for being "evil", and later you become very close with them. So close that they basically become the only people who don't judge you and truly understand you. But one day, one of them leaves you behind and basically wants nothing to do with you, and sometime later your other friend follows. And now you're completely alone, until you decide to pop up to see what's going on.

And only then you understand why: there's a guy who seems to have grown very close with your friends out of nowhere. But now he wants to extend the same kindness to you, to become a big happy family. Just that, you know, this is the same guy that made you and the most important people in your life feel like villains, took them away from you, and NOW wants you to forget everything and pretend nothing happened.

...yeah no if i were Remus i'd have to kill that guy lol-

Meanwhile, I think Patton did play a role in dividing the whole group into "dark" and "light" sides. Not out of malice, but rather ignorance and his very black and white views on morality. It took a while for him to actually reflect on his actions and realize the incredible amount of pain he caused, and wants to fix it. It took a lot of work, but managed to redeem himself to Virgil and Janus. Now, he wants to do the same with Remus. It's very difficult, especially since they don't have a lot in common, but he still wants to fix things.

Which makes Remus's much more confused but also angry. This is the person that hurt him the most, but now he actually seems remorseful. But he's not ready to forgive him, he is still hurting and mad. So Remus tries to bother Patton in order to make him snap and finally show everyone (and mostly himself) that Patton is actually evil. Except every time that happens he's met with compassion, which makes him even agrier, and want to force Patton to snap even more. At the same time, Patton is actually getting fustrated but feels like he can't really complain since he's the one at fault, and fears that it might affect their progress. The cycle repeats itself.

- Remus: The Corruption

remus is dirty. he is the rot in your skin. an itch that you can’t help but scratch to the point of infection, turning your red blood into green sludge. remus is the parasitic twin, a leech, feeding on your disgust. he’s everything you don’t want to be, a spitting image of you but Wrong. he’s that sickening reminder that something is rotten inside of you, and you can never cut it out. he’s burrowed into your neurons, making a home in your nightmares. letting vile images seep through the cracks of consciousness, just to remind you that you’re unclean. remus is an infestation that just won’t go away, rotting your sense of self until you are nothing but a maggot-infested skeleton.

- Virgil: The Hunt

what is anxiety if not sprinting away from physiological tigers? the feeling of being chased, being behind. do you know how much you have to get done today? why aren’t you running? time stops for no one and everyone is out to get you, so start moving now. something bad is going to happen, and unless you start trying to escape right now it’s going to Get You. and if you can’t escape, if the target’s already on your head, and you’re backed into a corner, well. you can’t go down without a struggle. claw and scratch, hurt someone if you need to. there’s an adrenaline rush in both sprinting away from the danger as fast as your legs can take you and deciding to face it head on, teeth bared. i’m sure you’ve heard of fight or flight, virgil.

- Roman: The Lonely

when you die, will people remember you? what have you done that makes you worthy of attention? of love? y’know, people won’t stick around if you’re not interesting enough. there’s a wall that separates you from everyone else, but if you just keep trying, maybe– just maybe– you can scale that wall, like a daring prince in a fairy tale, and someone will be waiting on the other side, ready to love you. but for now, you’re a faceless mask performing in a crowded theater. a shallow, empty facade. the spotlight’s too bright to see anyone in the audience (if there is anyone there at all), and you’re reciting a never-ending monologue. a one-man show. completely and totally alone.

- Logan: The Vast

humans are so incredibly small. absolutely meaningless in the face of the universe. how can we claim to know anything at all when we stare into the infinite void of space? you could learn every single piece of knowledge ever collected in human history, and you would still know less than 0.00001% of everything there is to know. it’s all statistically irrelevant to the mass of information in our world and beyond. how should logan, one who prides himself on knowing more than others, feel about that? realizing that he knows basically the same amount as anyone else, which is nothing. we look up at the cosmos and see an incomprehensible amount of space, but even on our own planet, the oceans still exist mostly outside of our understanding. space spans on forever, and we’ve barely scratched the surface of understanding our world. it’s humbling, being so minuscule. humans are pathetically insignificant creatures, grasping at infinitesimal straws to make meaning out of nothing, and sense out of everything. logan used to find comfort in the stars, but now they’re just a reminder of every lesson he will never be able to comprehend.
