the funny thing about roegadyn in this game is that after arr the msq does them so consistently dirty. they are either given a unique face model, reduced to a minor npc who doesnt really do much for the story or are killed off in 12 quests.
so im finding the sudden hype around the new guy really funny because it really is just ''wait. roegadyn are hot?'' ''always have been *pulls up gun*''
I would say this is especially for male roegadyns. In MSQ, at least we have Moenbryda and Merlwyb, whose presence mattered in the story, and they are shown to be competent, complex people. In general, I feel like female roegadyns are shown to be mature and smart, when I think back to some side-quest content.
More often than not, male roegadyns are made to be either a comic relief, the brawl or the Big Guy, if they are given any attention apart from having a line or two in the background.
I mean, we do have some, of course! Two of them (Gosetsu and Ketenramm) are old guys, they get a special priviliege that women are rarely given, and they also get unique faces that do not necessarily make them look like roegadyns; from what I remember, most people thought Gosetsu was supposed to be a big hyur using the roegadyn model. We have Rasho from the Ruby Sea, who I liked a lot, but he disappears after a while. Hoary and Ocher Boulder exist, but again, mostly in the background. Not to mention that, other than the Paladin in the Dalamud cinematic, we haven't really gotten to see a roegadyn in action like in the cinematic trailer. I completely understand why many people simply did not realise that roegadyns, especially male ones, can look hot in action.
(I would argue we have the same problem with male lalafells, where most of them are either evil, capitalists, comic reliefs or a combination of those three, with only Pipin being a truly heroic lalafell. One could argue that female lalas struggle a bit, too, with most of them seeming to be cute and vulnerable, but they definetely have had more opportunities to show complexety (Nanamo, Tataru and Krile being the prime examples).)

This is so important though: "You're gonna get in trouble for that" reveals so much. He was planning on nobody doing anything, not because nobody stands up to him, or nobody objecting to what he says. He expects good people to be goody-two-shoes rules followers, and he expects the rules to protect him no matter what he does.
Important lesson to learn from this standing up to fascists means getting into good trouble. Get into trouble if it's worth it. Fascists will never expect it.

A brief altercation recorded during a Chicago-area high school’s Feb. 12 walkout protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has gone viral online, reflecting the anger over ICE operations that have prompted school walkouts across Lake County and around the country. [...] According to the letter, about 100 students participated, and the protest has garnered attention from “some with no apparent affiliation to the district.” The letter said unauthorized use of recording devices, physical altercations, bullying and harassment are outlined in board policies, as well as disciplinary measures. The video of the incident went viral online, popping up across different platforms and drawing varying reactions from different political spheres, garnering praise and criticism alike. The video was also highlighted by various right-wing organizations, including the local branch of Moms for Liberty, which had made other posts critical of the planned walkout, calling it a “student-organized disruption.” Lake County has seen numerous walkouts in the last month, organized by students, in protest of federal immigration enforcement efforts that have rattled many in the region. For example, in Waukegan, which has a significant Hispanic population, about 500 students from Waukegan High participated in a walkout. there's something very RWBY feeling about this job to me. Not just the "it's also a gun" vibes because we already have a couple of those.
It's also the fact that the guns are pointing backwards when the claws are out. Imagine stabbing an enemy and then firing the gun to push the claws harder forward like a rocket.
