How was valentines with Viktor? 😏
It actually was very nice. We went to the aquarium and then back to my apartment for dinner. He got me flowers and a little stuffed dog. It was really sweet.

I'll be spending the day with Viktor! I was thinking about an aquarium and then back to my apartment for a home cooked meal (my mom gave me a recipe for today that she used to make for my dad).

Jayce looked the man up and down, a confused expression on his face that softened once he deemed the man, this... Viktor, okay.
"Yeah, well a lot can happen in the span of a couple years. I'm not the one who became some kind of life guru." Jayce tried to joke while his brain still tried to process.
A Viktor entirely different from the one he would spend days never ending in the lab with.
"I just, you know, grew out some hair."
Viktor does the same, looking at Jayce with a mix of bittersweet longing and guilt. He had heard of they call 'timelines'. Different ones meshing and colliding. This...this wasn't his Jayce. He knew this. And yet he couldn't stop the conflicting emotions raging like a never ending storm at sea within his chest. "As did I..." he finally answers swallowing thickly. "You look..." Handsome. Alive. Beautiful. "Well." He settles on the word.
"Thanks, you- well, my Viktor, makes sure of it." Jayce said, rubbing the back of his neck almost sheepishly.
He couldn't help but wonder, since this Viktor was here, where his own was. Jayce only hoped that he was safe. He didn't know much about timelines but Jayce figured that it was a good thing the two lookalikes weren't meeting.
Jayce was aware that he was in one of the lucky timelines. One where they were both still alive, where Viktor's sickness was able to be cured, where they had abandoned the hexcore project the moment it became to unstable and instead dove headfirst into creating stable plant life for the people of Zaun with the help of Ekko and Heimerdinger.
It then hit Jayce that he was standing outside his apartment at three in the morning dressed in flannel pajama bottoms and a black tanktop, complete with sock cladded feet.
He cleared his throat and opened his apartment door. "Do you want to carry this conversation inside? I don't feel like answering questions about why my apparent lab partner is standing outside in a blanket."
"My Viktor." Was his Viktor alive? He wondered. He wondered what this Piltover had become. If there was suffering and torture in Zuan. If the council focused on greed and private agendas instead of the greater good and justice. The herald looked up to the early morning sky and then back to Jayce when he had offered the invitation. He swallows thickly and nods. "Yes, perhaps that would be for the best."
As Jayce let Viktor inside, he couldn't help the way his eyes wandered over to the wall of his living room where pictures hung filled with all of his friends.
Him presenting the Distinguished Innovators Competition trophy to Ekko and Jinx, Cait and Vi when they had snatched his camera. His eyes finally settled on a particular one and stayed there.
He and Viktor, laughing, foreheads touching as they held each other by the shoulders.
Viktor was alive, happy, healthy.
So to turn to his side and see this version of the man was a shock to his system.
"Sit, please." He motioned to the couch, going to make them both a drink. "So," Jayce started from the kitchen. "Would it be impolite to ask where you came from?"
The Herald followed Jayce inside where he was led to the living room. He too, allowed his eyes to roam the interior of his home. It was comfortable, welcoming and friendly. It was warm and inviting just as this Jayce was. Ever shifting pearlescent eyes came across the photos, lovingly framed an on display upon the wall. Slowly, as if dragged by another, he came before them. Everyone was happy. Smiling brightly. A ghost of one came to the corner of his mouth. They were infectious and- The smile fell away as his gaze came upon a photo of himself. No. A Viktor. A Viktor that was smiling and laughing being held by an equally happy Jayce. Would this have been him if he hadn't been wrought by the gray? If his illness hadn't progressed to the point of death waiting to collect his soul? If his Jayce hadn't forced the Hexcore onto his body when he died? Jayce's voice derailed his internal conflict. He turned to face him digesting what was said and asked of him before sitting. "I come from another timeline if you are familiar with the concept. The anomaly must be involved in this. Forgive me, Jayce. I did not know where else to go." He looked up to Jayce with an apologetic look. No matter what timeline, it seemed they were always interconnected. His gaze turned back to the photo of them with their foreheads pressed together in a Zuanite kiss. Perhaps longing is what twisted at his chest. Maybe guilt. Anger? He wasn't so sure as time consumed what little humanity he had left of his body. He lifted his hand, his gaze averting to his palm.
Jayce walked back into the living room, setting down two mugs of warm tea on the coffee table.
"You don't have to apologize, V. I'm glad that you're comfortable enough to trust me no matter the timeline." He smiled encouragingly as he sat down on the other side of the couch, picking up his chipped red mug and taking a sip.
"You can stay here for as long as you're around if you'd like. You should be able to fit into my Viktor's clothes."
He left out exactly why Viktor's clothes were at his apartment. Jayce didn't really know how the man would react to knowing he was courting another version of him.
Viktor nods once in lieu of a polite and silent thanks as the tea was set down on the coffee table. Only when Jayce had taken his mug in hand did he take his into his own. He couldn't taste nor feel the warmth from the mug but he could enjoy the the steam lazily curling upwards from the hot tea. A ghost of a smile graces his lips. By the scent and the cloudiness of the tea, he could tell It was his favorite and made exactly how he liked it. He wondered if his counterparts had such similar tastes. He closes his eyes as he takes a sip, sighing softly as his metallic body eased into the cushions of the sofa. "That is very kind of you, Jayce." He murmurs. "But in the meantime, I must find a way to get back to my timeline." His commune needed him. He looks over to Jayce. "Your Viktor. Are you both close?"
"I can help you." Jayce decided, slowly relaxing as well.
It had started to lightly rain, the drops hitting Jayce's window rhythmically created a source of comfort for him.
If his Viktor was here, they would be curled up in bed together around this time after a long day in the lab.
Jayce paused for a moment at the question of their closeness. "Yeah, I'd say we're quite close." He decided on with a soft smile, looking down into his cup. "Very close."
Well, Viktor wasn't exactly expecting that. His eyes searched over Jayce. He found himself looking away when his gaze became selfish. Longing was a dangerous emotion. One he often found himself rather distracted with. "Again, that is kind of you, Jayce." He said his name so lovingly, so naturally. He took another sip of tea and looked out the nearest window. The sound of water gently tapping against the glass pane was soothing. His eyes followed hypnotizing downward trails of water droplets. "I'm glad." He murmured. "Never lose sight of your affection for him." They both had in the timeline he had come from.
"I never will. He's my-" Boyfriend? Fiancee? Best friend? All were true. "He's my partner. We take care of each other."
After a moment of contemplation, Jayce stood and sat his mug back down. "I'll find you some clothes and some blankets and a pillow. We can start researching in the morning."
There was no way that they were getting into the lab without questions unless Viktor looked like... Well... Viktor. That meant normal clothes and-
Jayce returned with everything he had mentioned. A change of clothes, some bedding, and also laid on top of everything was Viktor's cane.
The one with the red accents and Talis house crest that Jayce had lovingly made for the man. "Sorry, you just... You don't have to take it but it'll help you blend in."
Viktor noded, satisfied with the answer. Not a moment later did Jayce move yet again.
He watched as Jayce stood, eyebrows slightly pulled together as he declared his plan. When he came back, Viktor looked at the pile meant for him with the same troubled expression. It only broke for silent shock when he saw the cane. He never thought he would see the damned thing again. Slowly he reached for the lovingly crafted aide and held it within his hands. Every time the metal of his hands and the cane met it created a soft tink. Soothing in a way that he didn't have to use the cane any longer but bitter for the reminder of what he had become. "No...no, it is fine." He was quick to soothe Jayce's obvious stress. "You are right." His fingers wrapped around the red handle, familiar with the touch. "Perhaps by morning both of our minds will be refreshed and settled. This is a rather jarring night for the both of us, isn't it?" He tries a smile but it's lopsided and forced.
Jayce's eyes were automatically drawn to the soft clinking noise that came from metal on metal, so different from the soft tapping he was used to from his Viktor walking around filling the silence of his apartment and making it something warmer.
"Yeah... Yeah, jarring is an understatement." Jayce mumbled, distracted with a soft glint in his eyes. The type that usually showed up when he was in the lab or observing something that fascinated him.
"Your hands are..." He struggled to find words, reaching out to touch and examine but making himself stop short of actually making contact. "They're magnificent, Viktor." Jayce said softly, transfixed.
Viktor couldn't look away from the softness that lay in Jayce's eyes when he caught that gaze. He knew that glint. Golden eyes that sparkled when they had first cracked the pattern of runes to create what they had come to call Hextech. Their dream. When had it all gone wrong? When did they lose that glint? "Our paths diverged long ago." Viktor broke out of his musings with a gasp when the motion of Jayce's hands came closer to his. He pulled the cane closer to his body. His grip became tighter around the metal. "It was affection that held us together." "They're remarkable." He murmured staring at the misplaced wonder in his eyes. They could heal and help those that sought refuge from pain and misery. They could create and build and yet- They destroyed the only and very thing that he longed to have again. "But at a price."
Jayce had so many questions running through his mind that he didn't know if he could ask, but the scientist in him wanted to blurt out.
How did this happen? Why? Was the Jayce of this Viktor's timeline the same with metal hands and veins that seemed to shimmer?
Instead, Jayce found restraint, moving his hand away and stretching upwards with an over exaggerated yawn. "Well I guess we should get some shut eye. I'm just down the hallway so yell if you need anything."
With a final smile, he quietly disappeared into the darkness of the hallway and back into his room.
Viktor's shoulders slumped ever so slowly as he watched Jayce retreat to his bedroom. When the door clicked shut he continued to stare into darkness of the hallway. Was he sent here for a reason? As punishment? Perhaps fate was a cruel deity and sought to torment his already tragic life. After a long moment of staring, his gaze fell upon the pile of blankets and clothes next to him. Thunder rolled in the distance. His eyes then looked down to the cane on his lap. Here is where he would remain unmoved and silent, mulling over every memory of when it all went wrong. The soft patter of rain and silence was all that remained.
"Morning, V." Jayce hummed once he walked past Viktor on the couch, only to stop for a moment as the events of the early morning caught up with him.
Right, that wasn't his Viktor. This Viktor had shown up at his door step and Jayce had let him in.
From the looks of it, Viktor didn't sleep. Did he even need sleep?

Jayce walked back into the living room, setting down two mugs of warm tea on the coffee table.
"You don't have to apologize, V. I'm glad that you're comfortable enough to trust me no matter the timeline." He smiled encouragingly as he sat down on the other side of the couch, picking up his chipped red mug and taking a sip.
"You can stay here for as long as you're around if you'd like. You should be able to fit into my Viktor's clothes."
He left out exactly why Viktor's clothes were at his apartment. Jayce didn't really know how the man would react to knowing he was courting another version of him.
Viktor nods once in lieu of a polite and silent thanks as the tea was set down on the coffee table. Only when Jayce had taken his mug in hand did he take his into his own. He couldn't taste nor feel the warmth from the mug but he could enjoy the the steam lazily curling upwards from the hot tea. A ghost of a smile graces his lips. By the scent and the cloudiness of the tea, he could tell It was his favorite and made exactly how he liked it. He wondered if his counterparts had such similar tastes. He closes his eyes as he takes a sip, sighing softly as his metallic body eased into the cushions of the sofa. "That is very kind of you, Jayce." He murmurs. "But in the meantime, I must find a way to get back to my timeline." His commune needed him. He looks over to Jayce. "Your Viktor. Are you both close?"
"I can help you." Jayce decided, slowly relaxing as well.

"Never lose sight of your affection for him." They both had in the timeline he had come from.

After a moment of contemplation, Jayce stood and sat his mug back down. "I'll find you some clothes and some blankets and a pillow. We can start researching in the morning."

"Perhaps by morning both of our minds will be refreshed and settled. This is a rather jarring night for the both of us, isn't it?" He tries a smile but it's lopsided and forced.
Jayce's eyes were automatically drawn to the soft clinking noise that came from metal on metal, so different from the soft tapping he was used to from his Viktor walking around filling the silence of his apartment and making it something warmer.
"Yeah... Yeah, jarring is an understatement." Jayce mumbled, distracted with a soft glint in his eyes. The type that usually showed up when he was in the lab or observing something that fascinated him.

Viktor does the same, looking at Jayce with a mix of bittersweet longing and guilt. He had heard of they call 'timelines'. Different ones meshing and colliding. This...this wasn't his Jayce. He knew this. And yet he couldn't stop the conflicting emotions raging like a never ending storm at sea within his chest. "As did I..." he finally answers swallowing thickly. "You look..." Handsome. Alive. Beautiful. "Well." He settles on the word.

He couldn't help but wonder, since this Viktor was here, where his own was. Jayce only hoped that he was safe. He didn't know much about timelines but Jayce figured that it was a good thing the two lookalikes weren't meeting.
Jayce was aware that he was in one of the lucky timelines. One where they were both still alive, where Viktor's sickness was able to be cured, where they had abandoned the hexcore project the moment it became to unstable and instead dove headfirst into creating stable plant life for the people of Zaun with the help of Ekko and Heimerdinger.
It then hit Jayce that he was standing outside his apartment at three in the morning dressed in flannel pajama bottoms and a black tanktop, complete with sock cladded feet.
He cleared his throat and opened his apartment door. "Do you want to carry this conversation inside? I don't feel like answering questions about why my apparent lab partner is standing outside in a blanket."
"My Viktor." Was his Viktor alive? He wondered. He wondered what this Piltover had become. If there was suffering and torture in Zuan. If the council focused on greed and private agendas instead of the greater good and justice. The herald looked up to the early morning sky and then back to Jayce when he had offered the invitation. He swallows thickly and nods. "Yes, perhaps that would be for the best."
As Jayce let Viktor inside, he couldn't help the way his eyes wandered over to the wall of his living room where pictures hung filled with all of his friends.
Him presenting the Distinguished Innovators Competition trophy to Ekko and Jinx, Cait and Vi when they had snatched his camera. His eyes finally settled on a particular one and stayed there.
He and Viktor, laughing, foreheads touching as they held each other by the shoulders.
Viktor was alive, happy, healthy.
So to turn to his side and see this version of the man was a shock to his system.

As Jayce let Viktor inside, he couldn't help the way his eyes wandered over to the wall of his living room where pictures hung filled with all of his friends.
Him presenting the Distinguished Innovators Competition trophy to Ekko and Jinx, Cait and Vi when they had snatched his camera. His eyes finally settled on a particular one and stayed there.
He and Viktor, laughing, foreheads touching as they held each other by the shoulders.
Viktor was alive, happy, healthy.
So to turn to his side and see this version of the man was a shock to his system.
"Sit, please." He motioned to the couch, going to make them both a drink. "So," Jayce started from the kitchen. "Would it be impolite to ask where you came from?"

Jayce looked the man up and down, a confused expression on his face that softened once he deemed the man, this... Viktor, okay.
"Yeah, well a lot can happen in the span of a couple years. I'm not the one who became some kind of life guru." Jayce tried to joke while his brain still tried to process.
A Viktor entirely different from the one he would spend days never ending in the lab with.
"I just, you know, grew out some hair."
Viktor does the same, looking at Jayce with a mix of bittersweet longing and guilt. He had heard of they call 'timelines'. Different ones meshing and colliding. This...this wasn't his Jayce. He knew this. And yet he couldn't stop the conflicting emotions raging like a never ending storm at sea within his chest. "As did I..." he finally answers swallowing thickly. "You look..." Handsome. Alive. Beautiful. "Well." He settles on the word.
"Thanks, you- well, my Viktor, makes sure of it." Jayce said, rubbing the back of his neck almost sheepishly.
He couldn't help but wonder, since this Viktor was here, where his own was. Jayce only hoped that he was safe. He didn't know much about timelines but Jayce figured that it was a good thing the two lookalikes weren't meeting.
Jayce was aware that he was in one of the lucky timelines. One where they were both still alive, where Viktor's sickness was able to be cured, where they had abandoned the hexcore project the moment it became to unstable and instead dove headfirst into creating stable plant life for the people of Zaun with the help of Ekko and Heimerdinger.
It then hit Jayce that he was standing outside his apartment at three in the morning dressed in flannel pajama bottoms and a black tanktop, complete with sock cladded feet.
He cleared his throat and opened his apartment door. "Do you want to carry this conversation inside? I don't feel like answering questions about why my apparent lab partner is standing outside in a blanket."
