one time Grace fell asleep on Rocky’s lap and he refused to move until Grace wakes up.

Grace’s tunnel system is a bit different as it is has a lot of ladders and Grace trips and falls all the time.

on earth Grace became a markable as they use his image in everything

Rocky has a lot of action figures and other stuff

Adrain keeps Grace in a big bag when they are traveling as it’s easier to keep an eye on him. And so he was not kidnapped

BUT! Combine it with those 'Grace's crew lives' aus applied to Rocky's crew. So, now you have tiny eridian grace all by himself, stranded in space with his two dead crewmates.

Rocktiz's crew are all (or almost all) alive and well. (To make it desperate, it could be that a portion of the crew died including all the scientists, which makes Grace their saving grace).

Tiny eridian grace surrounded by a bunch of humans who easily come to love him while he feels guilty that he didn't even choose to come on the mission in the first place. All working together to solve the astrophage problem then bringing him to earth once they find out how he was treated.

And I propose.

Since Eridian brains seem better with memory and such.

(I wonder if, because their brains are basically a big crystal, the reason their memory is so good is because it literally gets carved into the crystal so they can revisit it whenever with no problem.)

Imagine they manage to basically transfer Grace's consciousness into crystal brain into Eridian body.

and suddenly Grace is one of the smartest bitches on Erid (not that he wasn't already smart, or that the Eridians didn't already view him as smart, but now they have an easier way to comprehend how smart he is) because he no longer has the feeble flaws of a human brain with it's weird memory and stuff.
