I can't stop thinking about how, on a sensory level, seeing grace for the first time was to rocky what we feel when we touch an algae with our foot in the sea
We're used to things being pretty solid and firm and then all of the sudden theres something slimy and soft on my leg
Rocky is surrounded by hard surfaces and all of his people are sturdy and very solid and now there's this blob in his soundscape (?) that speaks and leaks and is soft and moves like a fluid
supporting her rights and wrongs
Do you guys think there was a bit where the Taumoeba leaked from the ship and Rocky just quietly accepted that he was going to die like the rest of his crew. Grace had helped him gain closure that he couldnât have stopped the radiation sickness, but the breeder tank design was all Rockyâs doing. Erid and Earth and GraceâRockyâs entire worldâwere going to die because he overlooked yet another detail. No one would know it was Rockyâs fault eitherâthere would be nobody left to speculate who let the universe down.
Eridâs best engineer who killed himself with his own ignorance and brought the stars down with him. The damage, complete and thorough in itâs cosmic destruction, was done.
But then Ryland Grace shows up at blip-Aâs door and says theyâre going home, that itâs his turn to fix.
Imagine going on a movie date with a girl and she shows up to the movie theatre with a big huge fuckoff suspiciously large purse so you assume sheâs maybe sneaking in snacks but the movie starts and you look over and sheâs in the middle of a knitting project. She gets up halfway through the film to use the bathroom and accidentally knocks over her bag and balls of yarn go rolling down the aisle in the empty movie theatre like tumbleweeds and you have to go running after them. I think Iâd marry her.
I still can't get over the scene of movie rocky eating in front of Grace đ It's the equivalent of meeting an alien and, assuming they will never encounter another of your species again, say "hey check this out we humans always do this in front of eachother to strengthen pack bonds" then proceeding to drop your draws and start playing in your ass.
I know if rocky could sweat he would be DRENCHED as they got closer to Erid, trying to come up with a polite way to tell Grace that he's been trolling him on Eridian culture this entire time
Like poor movie Grace would probably meet Adrian and immediately request getting to know them over dinner together (a standard human custom he assumed they shared cus of rocky) and Adrian being MORTIFIED. I love rocky he's such a little freak lmao

another photo study for phm(I am obsessed). always liked this scene. It symbolises despair but for some unfathomable reason it gives me hope. Two people running towards the fireball in the distance which is like earth's dying sun.
Spent 4 hrs on this but I think it's quite well spent.
