Spike would catch glimpses of the Slayer on the Bronze dance floor loor, losing herself to the music. He could always tell when she had succeeded in a particularly exhilarating battle by the way she danced. The way she moved was glorious, raw, poetic. Eyes closed, arms up, hair bouncing. Swaying in a sea of suitors not worthy of breathing her air.

It would be so easy to flash a little fang, push aside the hopeless sods stumbling around her and slip in for a dance. To feel her roll and writhe against him, basking in her glow and taking in the scent of residual adrenaline lingering from her earlier conquests.

Maybe she wouldn't even notice her former dance partners had been swapped out for her mortal enemy. He could step in behind her without so much as missing a beat.

Or maybe she would notice, but would pretend she didn't. Let him have this dance of pleasure before returning to their more familiar waltz of death. Flirt with her secret desires, if even just for the length of a song.

Gym Crush:

Spike has somehow negotiated a little time in the magic box training room and while he usually finds himself alone for his workouts, the Slayer has been showing up at odd hours to do little workouts of her own.

She usually ignores him, pretending like he's not even there. But lately somethings been...off. If he didn't know any better, he'd think the Slayer had been gussying up before her workouts. And, is that a new sports bra?

(so relieved that after two years of no art I am able to still draw, thanks to my muses I had the right motivation to try (started a btvs rewatch and it just got to me). Like imagine my anxiety when I sat in front of my pc and tablet after so long)

I understand it was done intentionally, even Buffy points that out in s2, that Angel barely talks to her but even when he does he's talking to her like to a child ( or just doesn't talk at all and all they do is make out )

But even when they DO talk more it's always so... boring? There's no bickering, no fun in the way they speak to each other. It's just all so melodramatic, but even soap operas have better dialogue sometimes than that. It's like the writers really just overdone themselves on the tragic romance part that their interactions stopped even feeling like two people talking, but instead just two characters on paper

Then, when it comes to Spike, every line of his is just delicious in terms of writing quality. Every time he says something to Buffy it's unique and often has a double meaning, and every time she speaks to him we get Buffy in her best comedic snarky glory

That conversation they have in the s2 finale when Spike is trying to declare truce with Buffy is just so good. His grand poetic-ness of not wanting the world gone because he loves Manchester United and eating people, and her obvious bitterness because she just lost Kendra and needs to save the world, so she just doesn't really care his girlfriend is a big ho

They talk like old friends who just happen to be mortal enemies and hate each other. There's always a snarky remark and there's always a good come back. You're instantly hooked to the screen waiting what they are going to say to each other next

Is genuinely one of the saddest lines in the show in my opinion because it’s not even sarcastic, they did become best friends in their very own non traditional way

Who do you call your best friend? A person always there, always supportive, always having your back be it you do right or wrong, a person who will tell you you did something wrong, a person who will never judge you, a person whom you can literally tell anything, a person you spend most of your free time with
