a unique being, with its own mind, which must be raised, fed, has the right to play, to be given eye contact, to be given empathy, to participate in groups (sports, theater, classrooms), to meet strangers, and eventually explore the full range of what the world offers

lots of people talking about "AI alignment" and asking "how do we prevent AI from turning against us" when the real fucking questions are effectively:

how should we raise our children?

how should society treat its most vulnurable members?

how do we design these systems we live inside in such a way that avoids rewarding a lack of empathy? im looking at you american corporations
