i wish more people knew how good the old wheel of time PC game from 1999 is, lol. it kinda rocks, but it's definitely not for the casual fan, it's like surprisingly kinda hard if you're not used to older games that don't hold your hand, but the plus side is that the puzzles and the variety of magic are so creative, it's really impressive for a game that ideally will only take you like 7 hours to beat.

huge fan of the extremely specific puzzle spells and the way the levels are designed. one level there's just a random fucking gong in the middle of a cave for no reason, and it sticks out from the cavern wall, there's no way to miss it. you curiously shoot it, bang against it, and naturally it goes bwooong. you move on and make your way to the top of a gate that leads to a dead end, with only a really specific "switch places with an enemy" spell. you peer through a window and see, like half a mile away, another gong on another gate. you shoot a magic dart at it and an enemy runs out to check it out, and that's when you use the switch spell to suddenly teleport halfway across the map.

also a huge fan of the "teleport 5 meters forward" spell that you only use like twice. in one case there's a closed gate you have to get past, so you use that and then you instantly blow up because there were actually MINES on the ground, just so you know you also needed a fire shield active (at least the trial and error isn't annoying because there's insta-save and load).

it's also like surprisingly really atmospheric. the environments are so big, almost to a fault with how empty they are devoid of you and enemies, but you can't help feel kinda drawn into it. especially when it gets downright scary at times when you have to travel through shadar logoth, or traveling through the ways where it's pitch black and you can't see five feet ahead of you and black ajah can just suddenly pop up in front of you. which is still not as terrifying as when machin shin shows up as a fucking giant tornado of ghostly skulls screeching at you lmao. so good

not to sound like a danny rand hater, he's just a character that makes me go "it is what it is," but it's so funny remembering when the preview of the last ultimates issue dropped and danny was dressed up like classic iron fist and people were like "oooh he's gonna be the mirror image of evil hulk, who appropriated k'un-l'un's culture while danny is the foreigner who came to truly appreciate it and let it make him better. they're the natural enemies of each other" like ok you guys just had nothing to say about shang-chi literally right next to him reclaiming his k'un-l'un culture lol.
