🎪🎠 :: FELLOW HONEST + GINO

As soon as the duo moved into Ramshackle they were bombarded with the new found knowledge of the mass amount of kids overblotting at the school. Sure Fellow was no stranger to magic and knew about the issues of it, but it didn’t mean it made much sense to him in the slightest.

He slowly turned around to look at you after looking at Ace babble on about Riddle Roseheart’s overblot. He swiftly pushed Gino towards him side as if trying to cover him up from the darker sides of the overuse of magic.

“Are you… okay?” He tried to say nonchalantly as Gino looked back at you too, silently agreeing with Fellow’s question.

“I’m fine, Pssh, Ramshackle has been through it. Oh, and don’t worry about the exterior. The ghosts are working on it!” You perked up as you shot the duo a thumbs up. Fellow’s jaw went slack as he stared at you dumbfounded.

They were going to have to give you a lot of therapy if you’d gone through seven of the overblots and still put up with Crowley’s rampaging blackmail.

🔥 :: ROLLO FLAMME

By the time Rollo arrived he’d sensed something was wrong. Of course, being a gentleman, he never directly asked you about it, but made sideway guesses to try and pivot you toward an answer. He’d sure gotten one.

“Overblots? I told you magic is sinful.” He snarked, less bite than bark, his words only meaning to show care towards you. “You sat through seven of those… disgraceful behaviors? Exhibited by the highest ranked here as well. Absolutely vile and shameful.”

You tilted your head as you smiled at him, understanding a little of where he was coming from before you got a text from Crowley asking you to give the fire fairies some wood as the kitchen staff was off duty.

“Sorry, Rollo. I appreciate you caring a lot, but I gotta catch this or Crowley is going to tip the last good wall in this dorm… I’ll see you after, Fellow should be upstairs anyhow—“

“You get blackmailed too!? Have you had a hint of good intentions given your way while you have been stuck in this world!? And the walls!? This place is going to collapse any minute— y-you’re just okay with that!?” Rollo immediately fought back as his hands balled up on his sides and his eyes lit up in a passionate fire. He was for sure going to knock anybody who dared make your day anymore painful back into the hell fire.

☠️ :: SKULLY J GRAVES

Skully moved in shortly after the other three. He had immediately fallen in love with the creaks and scratches left upon the old dorm house. It’s taken him awhile to actually realize that the rest of you aren’t actually dead… meaning the design, while lovely to him, was considered deadly to you all.

So after much sighs and cries once you had all settled on getting it redone, he was then bombarded by the fact the seven Housewardens immediately came to help you. Whilst he laid in confusion Fellow awkwardly explain to him this was their “repayment” for overblotting and you having to fix it.

Skully went absolutely mother mode on you as after he found out that overblotting was still an issue at Night Raven College (shocker with Crowley in charge) and he refused to let you out of his sight. While he, unlike Rollo and Fellow, couldn’t recommend therapy, he did constantly try to get you to open up about it.

“You know, as a soul boundlessly devoted to helping halloween, you seem more scared of talking about it then you do bugs and ghosts galore…”

“You learn that having to talk about it means having to relive it sometimes, Skully. You’re a kind gentleman for trying to help me though Y’know.”

🕷️ :: SWING

Where to go with Swing? Genuinely, he doesn’t care. Doesn’t care that people have overblotted, doesn’t care that Ramshackle is one wind blow away from falling, and also doesn’t really care about you mentally other than toying with you.

That doesn’t mean you get to point out how he subconsciously will stay near you when you have guest in Ramshackle. That’s odd of course! He’s simply there to watch you jitter in his presence.

That also doesn’t mean you get to bring up the mass loads of cash coming in from Azul, Kalim, Leona, and Idia. Now that’d be even more odd! And don’t ask about the bugs and moving portraits in their dorms either. It’s cheap schemes by the skeleton boy who’s down right obsessed with Halloween if you’d ever wonder. Never Swing. Because Swing doesn’t have the heart to care for someone like you does he…?

🍣 :: GRIM

Grim had been with you through thick and thin. Every Overblot, every school day, every harder than normal night, every nervous breakdown, everything. Of course he tried to act like you were no more than a pawn for the Great Mage Grim, but truly you were his family. His found home.

So when Rollo’s constant berating became too much, when Fellow and Gino had too much going for them, when Skully became to overstimulating, when you had one too many scared from Swing, it was Grim who stayed and comforted you. He was no therapy, he wasn’t a doctor or understood everything going through your mind, but he knew you needed him as much as he needed you.

So when Ramshackle seemed one rip away from collapsing or everyone seemed too set into a world that wasn’t yours, Grim was sure to be by your side. Without tuna. He may never fully grasp the idea of being lost in a world that will never fully accept you, but he understands the acceptance part.

You never had to earn a place in his heart, he gave it to you freely. Sure he could be a little egomaniac or cocky in ways you didn’t know a cat like being could, but he loved you. You were his home and whole being. So never feel like you don’t have someone waiting for you on the other side of the island, campus, dorm, or bed. Because Grim would be there, just like you were for him.

Dr. Armstrong was so certain that Blore wanted to die on his own. The way he flung back bottles upon bottles was worrying the deep gut feeling he held. Blore paid no mind as he swung another back down his throat to cool the aftertaste of the last.

“William.” Edward started as he grabbed the ex-policeman’s hand to stop him from drinking anymore. Blore huffed as he rolled his eyes back and mumbled gibberish as he watched his hands shake in the doctor’s hands. “You see what you’re doing.”

“Yeah, so I see what I am doing. Why does it matter? You can work it can’t you? Just do your magic or whatever,” Blore absentmindedly blabbered as Armstrong clutched his hands a little tighter and kneeled down to look at the man eye-level.

“Stop it.”

“Why does it matter?”

“We all hold our guilty consciences. Don’t do this again if you want me to help you.”

“…” The man seeing the fear lighting up in Armstrong’s eyes over the dilemma finally dropped it as he pushed the alcohol away from himself. “I’m sorry.”

Armstrong looked up from trying to stitch a cut in Blore’s arm with a light hum and smiled.

“You’re forgiven… you are so much more handsome without the shake.”

“You are too.”

Armstrong glanced up at him and froze up as he narrowed his eyes.

“What??” The man being operated on laughed as he stole a quick kiss to the doctor’s temple. “You act like I said your greatest worries out loud! We all see you don’t drink.”

“For a good reason. It be in your best intent for you to stop.” The doctor huffed as the kiss landed and went back to work.

“Doctor’s orders? Can’t decline then, y’know. And hey… if anybody is a murder, I don’t think it’s you.”

“Do I now?” Armstrong finished the stitch as he stood up and cocked his head as Blore stood up beside him and grabbed him by the hips as the two started to sway.

“Truth, I’ll protect you till the end m’kay, just give me this one dance.”

It had been but a humble day in the village. Of course every day was the same here. Nobody cared to stop around, but truly not many cared for the small haven we all called home.

Every day was like the last before it. I opened shop, let the fumes blow from my bakery, and gently settled into my seat as I awaited the list of four customers a day.

This was just how life was. A never ending loop stuck in the middle of the kingdom where nobody cared for it.

That was until the wandering traveler arrived. Had I know better I never would have indulged myself in a conversation with them. Their eyes sparkled with years of stories from far and wide.

Then they became a regular. Sure, it was only every couple of months, but still. It was a presence grown to love and flourish underneath the gentle care of adoring hands.

The traveler’s name was Riv, though by the odd circumstances she told me to call her Vivi. How odd was it? I simply smiled and told her if I’d have to call them that, they’d have to indulge me by calling me Vixie. A sly name conjured up to be closely related to a Vixen.

For once, Vivi arrived earlier than scheduled. I looked up from the kitchen as a soft smile graced my face and I set the steaming loaf on the rack.

“My, if it isn’t my dearest traveler. What brings you in so early?” I half way laugh as I lean up against the counter, raising my eyebrows questionably.

“Can’t I wander out to see my favorite baker? Have anything for free?” What a drag… only here for the free bread again. I sighed as I shook my head and picked up a piece of loaf from the display and packaged it for her.

“Here it is, then, Vivi. When will you ever pay me back?” I hummed with humor as I slid the slice over to her.

“When I one day settle down with you, of course.” She smiled back as she bit into the bread.

My face flushed red as I stared at her before grumbling to myself and just giving her the whole loaf.

“The more I give, the less time it’ll take for you to stop traveling the world.”

“The more you give the more inclined I am to come back.”

And with that, my ever dearest traveler set out on yet another adventure, and left her poorest baker to await her return and stories for another day.

Ever since everyone started to move into Ramshackle, everything has started to change. The once empty halls felt full of life as Swing walked around blubbering nonsense. The once vacant kitchen was now always occupied by Rollo muttering how unruly the others were. Your once quiet room now lit up with Skully awaking with you every morning. Gino and Fellow following suit as the two followed you around everywhere.

When Grim originally complained they were taking away his Henchman, you had almost felt the same way. With so many people it seemed like you two were bound to be a forgotten display at Night Raven, but it quickly became noticeable it was the opposite.

Fellow always made you feel welcomed. Whether the day was just too heavy or you needed a shoulder to cry on, he was there. He understood how lonely this world could feel, how powerless you felt when everyone threw their all at you. So he quickly settled into his role of an older brother.

Gino followed in suit, with Fellow always by your side his small footsteps because a sound of comfort. Dragging on your sleeve as he looked at you with bliss in his eyes and a knowing that he’d love you like an older sibling who has had the world to carry on their shoulders. No day ever felt complete without him cuddled up into your side along with Grim as you all read stories together.

Skully for sure had the most impact. The once silenced halls and shattered mirrors leading to your room slowly became bits and pieces of your life when Skully made everything shine around him. The first couple weeks were awkward, he had kidnapped you, but slowly the awkwardness faded until a blooming romance struck down on you both. Now the bed never was a sprawl of sleepless nights. It was a place where you two could love freely and openly without the fear the outside world could touch you for a couple hours.

Now, you couldn’t imagine a life without the five of them coddled into your dorm. Their presences made the emptiness disappear slowly but surely. Ramshackle, the once abandoned project left to rot on the campus, became a home in a world not your own.

The occasional kisses were also intact, but who were you to complain when love flowed around you like a steady and calm river filled with groups of fish leading you into comfort and knowing?

♦️ :: CATER DIAMOND

It was no secret Cater was insanely good at doing anything with doctors. Whether it be check-ups or fixing broken legs, he could handle seeing a couple tools shoved up in his face.

Which is why he seemed like the perfect option for you to go too. Even if he was also your boyfriend, making it easy to seek him out. You’d strolled up to him after his class and looped your arms as you quietly asked if he’d go with you so you weren’t alone.

Cater adored the idea, immediately saying yes and dragging you behind as he was set out to go and get you there without even getting out of uniform. He whipped out his phone and took a quick photo before posting it.

“#doctordilemas… does that sound cute?? Snappy?? Will grab people’s attentions for poor Cay-Cay??” He smiled as he swiped a quick kiss to your embarrassed face.

When you both got there you immediately tenses up and winced when they mentioned giving you eyedrops. Cater subtly watched your reactions before humming.

“I saw this trick online, ask for them to put it in your tear-docks with your eyes closed, it won’t hurt and you don’t have to watch it.” You smiled as you went back. When you did come out you were smiling giddy, seemingly a good sign you’ve found a new strength with the help of your helplessly online boyfriend.

🦈 :: FLOYD LEECH

Floyd knew what you needed before you did. The way you subconsciously leaned into him and the way you kept rubbing at your eyes gave you away to the eel.

“What’s wrong, shrimpy??? Ya know I don’t like when you get the jitters like this. Sum’ things on your mind… c’mon shrimpy squeeze it out.”

When you finally let loose that you were scared of going to the eye doctor over the fear that the eyedrops would sting your eyes and make you blind, Floyd laughed at you. Sure it kind of pissed you off until you shoved him and huffed as you stood up.

“Then don’t come with me.” You grumbled as you started to walk away without your clingy eel in tow.

By the time you arrived a certain fish was already at the door waving eccentrically at you. You stared for a hot minute before shoving past him and going in on your own into the otherwise scary room.

When you came out you realized being so mad at Floyd made you unconditionally feel less scared about the entire eye-drop situation. None the less, your boyfriend sat on one of the chairs as he pretended to read some of the books before looking up with a smile, already having a feeling he’d done his duty in helping you. You scoff without snare and kiss his cheek thank you.

🍩 :: RUGGIE BUCCHI

Ruggie always counted actions by how much he’d have to give in return. So sure, he was a little shocked when you’d spent all day trying to say something but not knowing how to ask. He was a tad upset you’d view him in a way that made it seem like he wouldn’t care about you, but he understood not wanting others to see you as weak.

When you finally broke he stared at you with wide eyes before his ears shifted back a little. You’d looked so nervous trying to tell him you just wanted his presence. He of course told you he’d be there, without hesitation. When you’d offer to give him something back, he’d shut up and kiss your temple.

“I’m here for you. Not for the price of what I’ll need to do to show you my love.” He huffed out as he took your hand in his and immediately started to follow your lead to the office.

When the two of you arrived he looked around mentally counting how much this appointment costed before looking down to your shaking form and sighing as he ruffled your hair.

“Sure, it’s bound to hurt now, but just remember. This is for your eyes, not your brain. You need this to be able to be the best you can be.”

After you came out with slightly red eyes and a stomach cleansed of your earlier meal you slumped against Ruggie and paid for the appointment. The hyena slowly rubbed your sides before letting out a snicker of laughter.

“You should have seen how badly some people act for their significant others. Shehehehe… you’re lucky to have someone as laid back as me. I also went and bought you a donut. The price??? A kiss and you cuddling with me while I console you for your big doctor dilemma shehehehe!!”

♠️ :: DEUCE SPADE

Deuce was closer to you than anybody else, so when you immediately came to see him after class with that glint in your eyes he knew something was going down. When you’d explained how you didn’t want to go to the eye doctor alone and wanted is company he was more than happy to comply to your wishes.

When the two of you arrived he sat down in the seat next to you and gently put a hand on your thigh. He leaned over with a calm and steady smile as he brushed your hair with his other hand, helping to make you feel grounded before you had to go in.

“You’re going to do amazing, just this one visit then you don’t have to come back for a long time okay?” Deuce gently whispered as he kissed your temple before letting you go when they called your name back into the room.

Sure, he bit maybe eight of his nails off and thought he’d die if he saw your tear stained eyes for more than a millisecond. That was beside the point though, because as soon as you came out clutching your stomach and giving him a thumbs up all his worries disappeared as he gave a small smile to you.

Yeah, you were going to get pampered rotten when you two got back to his dorm.
