like she cannot accept or believe there is one for multiple reasons because of everything that happened to her, but they want to, sometimes. sort of. partially so they can blame someone, but like, not really, also so that maybe there is actually something that can save her. but she also knows that whatever she is is older than whatever god is, maybe, and that whatever she met in the woods was as well. and church was a place she was supposed to feel something good in, in some form, but she never felt anything but trapped. and they wish they could be unaware of their own not so much divinity because it isnt that so they could maybe find comfort in religion, but also when they were surrounded by religion they felt like she was drowning, like she couldnt breathe, because it’s too man made and too unstable. but they want to be human enough that they seek out something bigger? but they cant and they cant forget how her mom used god and church and religion as a weapon snd cant forget feeling abandoned and cant forget feeling Wrong. ya know?

honestly okay so like for as soft and sweet and Wants To Do Good gen is, there's a part of her that if given enough fuel is truly terrifying. for as fucking silly goofy she is, she is incredibly fucking powerful and the only thing keeping her from accessing their full power is Death and even then, it's to protect himself from her. if he didn't think she'd try and kill him and had experience with her attempting to, he'd let her loose. the veil is as old as death, the veil has power that death wants, and just it's all very messy because gen and the veil are the same thing only gen doesn't know this , and death just kinda is banking on that being what will eventually let him access the power. the cycle has been going on for a very very very long time like so fucking long because gen won't stop fighting. and when someone comes along and reminds her that she's loved or that she's not fucking alone or that she doesn't have to carry all the weight, it makes the fighting easier to do and makes it harder for death to have influence over them. it also makes death super fucking mad and petty and cruel and yeah it's not great it's not fun!! it rarely ends well!! getting close to gen is rarely a good idea because of this. they are doomed! it's a tragedy!
