Veganism is only as powerful as it’s growth. It’s a collective movement, a revolution if you will. Something any leftist should be at least somewhat familiar with, as a concept.

A single person on strike isn’t going to change the world - every able worker on strike is a very different scenario.

the people farming and eating dogs in Asia are still people, just people raised in a different culture. they aren’t barbaric inhuman monsters to gawk at. they aren’t to be pointed at to be like “hey those terrible Asians eat dogs! Doesn’t that disgust you?”

They( as in american citizens, not the citizens of china where it takes place)are litterally calling a small meat festival " barbaric" and " devilish". They are calling poor people barbaric.

Keep in mind this is a poverty stricken province where living conditions arent great and their main concern is the dogs and cats involved? Not the people? I love cats as much as the next person but they have to use " barbaric" tools aka not guns to kill the animals for meat to celebrate the summer solstice. They prepare meat like any other hunter prepares a deer. This is the issue with applying western ideologies to eastern cultures. Over there, dogs and horses are commonly consumed but here they are pets.

The reason i pointed this shit out is there is NO FUNDRAISER OR PETITION TO MAKING LIVING CONDITIONS BETTER FOR THESE PEOPLE IVE EVER SEEN. But there is a petition to take a big resource of food away from them because a few dumbasses just like you go " waa poor scruffy!".

Actually have some compassion for real human asian people with names, faces, children and land other than the hypothetical cat or dog just cause your western ass head cant comprehend other cultures exist with different traditions and you have

And now we are broke. And can’t afford to pay $60 to have every pair of pants we own hemmed (shoutout to shorties!). We are making yogurt because we can’t afford to pay $2.50 for one yogurt.

I’ve learned to knit to make myself wool hats and scarves. I’ve learned to sew so I can make items that would otherwise cost me 4x the cost to make it. I’ve learned to make yogurt because I would prefer to spend $2 for a gallon of milk and get 24 yogurts out of it rather than just one.

I’ve planted fruit trees in my yard so I can reduce the carbon footprint of the fruit I eat, and because produce is expensive.

I raise egg-laying chickens so I don’t contribute to factory farming.

My husband hunts deer so that we can eat lean, virtually fat free meat, and also not contribute to factory farming. The deer live happy lives and are not allowed to suffer. (Hey PS also, hunting up here plays an important role in ecology, as otherwise the deer population would explode, and deer would starve in the winter. Thanks for coming to my TEDta…)
