Since then, over a MILLION people have left the job market. Inflation is sky-high. The Global economy is tanking. An illegal war in Iran has cost American and civilian lives across the region and billions in taxpayer dollars. Trump and the GOP cut vital healthcare, food, and education assistance. And Republicans have completely abandoned working families.

Considering girls tended to have their first periods later than they do nowadays (on average) and that sex was viewed primarily as ‘the process during which babies are made’ rather than a pleasurable act, I really don’t think the vast majority of men back then would want to sleep with a girl who wouldn’t even give them heirs (not to mention the beauty standards back then pretty much viewed physical maturity as attractive).

Disability benefits: "I mean, sure, there are probably some sad sacks who are gaming the system, there always are, but hell, with the amount of taxes we pay, the government can afford a few freeloaders, right? I'd rather pay for a couple people who don't really need it than not have the system at all for if I need it, or my kids do, or whatever. I mean shit happens. What if some asshole drunk driver puts me in the hospital and it takes me a year to get back on my feet? Or Heaven forbid something permanent happens. Could (have/’ve) is the idea that you are unaware of a chance to do something / something that previously happened but no longer can (i.e. performing a skill) / indicates conditional probability (i.e. needing money to do something) - can also be a polite request
