Something I have noticed is people saying that the movie is erasing Lykon's death.
It isn't. The rules are now the Immortals can still randomly turn mortal without any warning. Discord did, so Lykon did as well.
The deal with Nile is that her injuring someone can intentionally make them lose their immortality. It can now be used derminalistically and no longer has to be random chance.
i know i watched the movie yesterday but it's like my brain is refusing to remember details and it's turning into something amorphous in my memory. for instance: I can't even remember if one of the immortals dies and resurrects at any point in the movie??? i know that we see them heal from bad injuries, but was there anything that would've specifically set the level of action apart from them being, like, just regular mercenaries who fight really well?
...oh my god. not one person died... not one immortal dying and coming back to life... this is truly tragic
I think i have found a way to explain the whole dream connection issue in TOG2.
Maybe they only dream of each other when a death is recent.
In the first movie, the gang were still recovering/fresh off of their deaths in Sudan when Nile was killed, and Quynh is constantly dying. So they all dream/have dreamed of each other.
Discord seems to be actively avoiding interacting with humanity. So if she doesn't put herself in situations where she could die then she doesn't. It probably would have taken her time to notice she wasn't immortal any more and she probably only noticed when she stubbed a toe and it didn't heal. Or maybe she now has cancer or something that is why her hand shook in the church. So nobody dreams of her.
Tuah is essentially a librarian and doesn't seem to put himself in danger. So he likely hasn't died in a long time. So the dreaming only began once Discord killed him. Andy doesn't get the dream because she had met him. And Nicky and Joe probably just didn't mention a weird dream, kind of like Nile. And Booker was drowning himself in alcohol and then kidnapped so likely wouldn't have dreamed about much of anything in the time since Tuah's death.
Can they please explain in the third movie what happens with hair and immortality???🥹🙏🏻 Does it grow until the length they had when they first died? Does it grow forever? How did they manage to have it shorter in the first movie? Does it not grow instantly after cutting?
But it would make sense tbh, if they cut the hair and not take it out, it wouldn't need "healing". The body wouldn't recognise it as a "wound" because it's not the follicle (the only part of the hair that is actually "living", right?)
Someone who knows more about hair and science please enlighten me!!!!
If they don't have supernatural hair, then they definitely should have made the gap between movies more than 6 months if they really wanted to realistically pull off the longer hair styles...and Quynh should have looked like Cousin It.
Also, it always bothered me with the ear piercings...would their bodies heal the holes?

Over all, ok, there was some weirdness, but all can be made whole with fanfic.
Spoiler thoughts below:
I have three main issues that kind of broke my immersion in the narrative:
1- In the 6 months the gang has been together, you mean to tell me that Nile has never trained with Joe or Nicky and injured them?
2- If Discord and Tuah were there when Quynh was taken and put into the sea, why didn't they intervene at that time. I always assumed part of the issue of the gang not being able to find her/where she was put in the water is that it took too long for Joe and Nicky to find and free Andy and then stage the rescue of Quynh, by the time they were able to the information was lost to them (lets not think about the logistics of trying to rescue someone from the sea without modern underwater tools).
From my understanding, Tuah saved Andy pretty quickly, so they could have begun their hunt fairly soon after she was taken, the information shouldn't have been lost to time.
Also, if Discord actually cared about the Immortals as a "species" why would she just walk away and not intervene and, instead, stage a rescue of Quynh after she had suffered for 500 years so that she would be insane enough to manipulate into betraying the gang? Because it didn't look like it was difficult for Discord to find Quynh, as if she new where she was for some time.
3- Tuah says that in order for one Immortal to give their immortality to another, they have to be "willing". So, how is torturing them and trying to coerce them into giving up their immortality going to work out for Discord. Do the rules understand consent? Because coerced consent is not "willingly" giving it up. And Joe, Nicky, and even Tuah, do not strike me as the type of people who would willingly give someone who is clearly bat shit insane immortality back.
Does she think if she kills either Joe or Nicky she can tell the other that she can end their suffering by allowing them to become mortal and join their dead lover? Given Nicky's speech to Joe...I don't think he would fall for that...and, I think Joe would deny her it out of spite if she were to kill Nicky (remember Keane?).
We have no real knowledge of Tuah's motivations, but he clearly knew her more than anyone else, so he is probably aware how bad of an idea giving her back immortality would be.
They have time on their side...she is going to die...if they all became mortal and denied her their immortality, she still will die, I don't see a way she could realistically force any of them to do anything.
The only caveat is Nile...we don't know what the whole "I am the first/you are the last" thing is really all about.
