Pieces laser cut to assemble the robot body

Mechanism to open the structure by 3 arms that rotate 145 degrees with a servo motor that responds to a light sensor on the back of the robot body.

Based on the Hoberman structure for a sphere, one ring of it has the same 2D effect

Test 1, screws and nuts made the structure too heavy. Better try with smaller or plastic parts.

Best material tested was yupo.

Expanding Circle

Hoberman Circle Structure Possible solution to open and close folding structure in a uniform way according to the light sensor input data.

Breathing Structure - paper folding

Harder to assemble but greater expansion and compression.
